Daft Punk tron suit

from what ive been able to gather the jack and pants are probably made out of pleather. i have got the basic layout figured out. now all i need to do is get the exact measurements done. it would be helpful if anyone could give me a basic template of the most appropriate jacket. :)

this is my latest work on the basic design (i forgot the elbow pads >.<):

kwik sew 3570 i reccomend for the jacket and the pants i dont think you really have to picky about since there alot of joining of different materials

and if i understand correctly el tape has an adhesive backing so thats no probably but to light it up the way the have it is going to be pricey

that looks kind of close but in order to be accuate i need to base it off of a leather jacket. the web site looks very useful though. and i know the el tape will cost a lot.

You can use what ever material you want for it. Like the tron jacket I made was from a pattern for pajamas the only real restriction is if you get ahold of a pattern that incorporates the ability to strech which what you want to achieve doesn't.

right now im going for accuracy more than comfort. after i get it looking good ill most likely try to to make it more comfortable. probly a lot of trial and error

hi fleefromme

Some news about your project ?

I'm realy interested about it, i'm working on my guy helmet atm (tron version) but i'm looking for information about the jacket. I plan to start the build of this jacket in 4 months (evaluate the time to finish the helmet)

I want to make a perfect one (more screen acurate as possible), and wear it to ride my bike so i don't know if i need to take a jacket and cover it with the white material or make it completely.

Good luck for your job, and hope to see some news. :thumbsup

Send your pics to leathercult, they do custom jackets. I really like the tron daft punk jacket I might get one from them

i dont think that the angles of the jacket i designed are accurate. my current design is not based on any real measurements. i just eyeballed it. my current plan is to make a prototype of my design using whatever kind of fabric i can get my hands on(just to see how it looks.) as soon as i get the look i want i will most likely make the final jacket out of some kind of pleather.

i hope to see everyone elses work. the more input there is the better this thread will become.

I jus bought some reflective tape from wal mart in the auto care section. i might use the daft punk look and sew it on a black thermal. 30 inches long by 2 inches wide white reflective tape is bout 2.50, my black thermal was 7.50 at finishline, i got 2 of em. On the back part of the tape u can peel one layer off to sew it on or peel both back layers to use the adhesive sticky back like regular tape.
