D.C.'s Titans (tv series)

Would be interesting if there would be any continuity with the other TV shows and the movies. Particularly with Cyborg as he's making an appearance in the BvS movie. And then the relationships (if any) between Wally West and Barry Allen as well as anything between Donna Troy and Diana.

And then you have the child of a demon (Raven) and the alien (Starfire) and if they're going to change their origins. I also hope they go with Garfield as Changeling instead of Beast Boy.

This could be interesting but being used to and a big fan of the animated incarnations of the Teen Titans a darker, more serious (Teen) Titans is definitely going to take some getting used to. I'll definitely miss hearing Cyborg yelling, "Booyah!" and Raven's azarath, metrion, synthose. Now if they make it like Young Justice with the same quality of writing then I'm going to definitely be watching it.

The comics (80's New Teen Titans), for the most part, were of the dark and serious tone and violent especially stories involving Starfire. Arcs involving Trigon or The Brotherhood of Evil were usually sadistic. The Omega Men crossover was brutally violent.
I don't expect the show to be overly violent but I do hope they go with the tone of the comics during the Marv Wolfman/George Perez run.

I would imagine so, I'm not all that familiar with the original comic book versions of the Teen Titans but I knew that the TV versions bore no resemblance to them. It's funny though, there was a recent episode of Teen Titans Go! in where there was a flashback scene and we saw the team in the same costumes that they wore in the comics.

DC is ALL over the place with tv and films. I think they are behind the 8-ball with Marvel's success and are trying frantically to catch up. This sounds cool but i sounds like it may be confusing for the general folk if these aren't in a shared universe. Look at how many people are still confused why Christian Bale isn't Batman in Dawn of Justice.

I partially agree, but I also think we (the avid fan base) overestimate how many people will be watching every D.C. show/movie on the market. I am sure there are staggering numbers of people watching Arrow and The Flash but not Gotham nor Constantine. As a related example: I have a large number of friends who have seen every MCU film on opening weekend, but do not watch Agents of SHIELD at all, and they have been avid comic book / superhero fans for 20+ years.

Yes, there will likely be a number of people who may tune in to Titans, and then go see BvS, and be confused as to why Cyborg is different. But then someone will tell them "It's like what Casino Royale did with James Bond: same characters, just slightly different versions" and they'll shrug and be okay.

There will probably be no connection between this Cyborg and the movie Cyborg. Just like there is no connection between the Flash tv series and the planned Flash movie (other than being about the same character). DC just doesn't get the idea of linking this together so that their audience isn't confused.

DC Titans 2018

I could have swore that there was already a Titans thread but I couldn’t seem to find. If that’s the case a mod can merge it.

I wasn’t expecting it to be that dark. Robin actually using a gun and saying “**** Batman”...whoa

Someone at DC thought "You want to bitch about how dark our stuff is? Check THIS out." And completely missed what's good about their comics.

I wouldn’t be surprised if there was complete silence at the panel reveal of this.

Looks like complete trash and through it was an April fools joke, but it’s July so it must be an actual reveal.

Man, DC... How low can you go on that limbo stick?

I feel like the live-action division at WB/DC (with the possible exception of the folks running the CW shows) has ongoing, systemic misconceptions of what their characters are. Honestly, this trailer feels like borderline character assassination against Dick Grayson.

What is even happening here? Good lord. It's like DC is so mad at Marvel for having a unified cinematic universe they are intentionally having zero continuity between anything. Great way to bolster the IP guys!

Honestly, the pics of Zachary Levi from Shazam are so great I wish DC would do ANTI-grit and make everything in the style of a live action Brave and the Bold style or Batman 66.

Oh, and just to get it out of the way--

1. Somebody will say they don't like an african american cast as Starfire
2. Somebody else will say "careful! If you don't like you're automatically racist!"
3. Somebody else will point out she's an orange skinned alien and therefor race has no bearing.

Anyway...is this Robin supposed to be from the DC movie-verse? The “R” looks similar to what is on the Robin costume from BVS. But he is supposed to be dead. It also appears that Dick is possibly a police officer already but I thought he was Nightwing by then. I’m really confused.

*****, that was hard to watch.

Since I can't decide which critique to give this, you'll get all three.

1. That LITERALLY looks like a fan film made by high-schoolers.
2. That LITERALLY looks like an SNL parody.
3. That's ACTUALLY DC saying, "You thought we were dark before, huh? Huehuehue watch this!" *Insert Flop Batman here*

Damned, even the sound design is horrible. And these cheesy negative effects ? That’s bad, it smells like Marvel’s inhuman series, a train wreck before it even begins...

Just watched the trailer, but with no sound on, probably made it better. But yeah, besides the darkness part, it does look so bad. And whats up with Starfire, just no.
