D.C.'s The Flash (tv series)

well, i guess it's easy enough to figure out what zooms engame is now..

but man,

that was the most heart wrenching moment in DC since pa kents death in 78 superman.

I kind of figured henry was dead weight. you don't need two dads for barry.

Now........that being said, the killing of Barry's Dad was ABSOLUTELY unnecessary. Other than to cut one recurring character loose.
That episode had so much promise till the end was just ridiculous. I will write it again........RIDICULOUS.
.

I don't know about that, but I DO think it was ridiculous. and rather stupid for him to move back home. if zoom had no idea his father was alive, he couldn't use him against the flash. he should have stayed away. damn shame though, because i like it when heroes have happiness in their lives. death of his mother should have been trauma enough.

Maybe he is the one in the iron mask? That way they could keep using him?

I hope not. a gimmick when you kill off one good character for no reason like that..

Perhaps the same actor, but a different character...

I mean, we DID see John Wesley Shipp's Flash when Barry was crossing over to Earth 2 with Cisco and Wells...

Pretty sure it's Ronnie in the mask.

That would be...weird? I can definitely how they might (the wormhole) but then...he should have had to merge with Stein or died by now - Firestorm isn't stable without regular merges. I suppose they could say the energy of the blast/wormhole stripped him of the matrix maybe?

Actually, now that I think about it, I bet that it's the real Jay Garrick in the mask. The reason why I say this is because of what happened at the end of Legends of Tomorrow... specifically the arrival of Rex Tyler (aka Hourman) of the Justice Society of America, a group whose membership includes Jay Garrick.

The fact that Thawne was not happy to see Garrick's helmet pop out of the portal at the end of S1 makes me think there's a genuine Jay Garrick so I'm inclined to agree with you.

yeah, that part always stuck with me as odd....although I always thought Jay Garrick would be more of a senior flash/past figure...so why would future thawne know about him like he was a part of the future?

unless there is a legends of tomorrow story yet to be told.

Damn, the reveal of the unmasking was fantastic!!

But damnnnnn.. what happens now with what Barry's done?? Total reset?

I'll spoil it! Just in spoiler tags. So, you know, don't click it if you haven't watched the finale. :)

The Flash, Season 3: The Flashpoint Paradox!

This feels a little like a cop out considering how close they got to doing exactly this in season 1. Like they figured out the end of season 2, and realized that they had no good ideas on where to leave it to set up season 3. Now, please don't take that as me saying The Flashpoint Paradox is a bad story arc; on the contrary, it is wonderful. But to have had the writers actively avoid it once, only to do it now, reads like they ran out of ideas. Plus, unless they massively change the future after Barry saves his mother, it can't last more than a couple episodes. At which point we'll be back to "business as usual." I wish the ending involved Wally discovering he has speed powers, instead. At this point, that is inevitable, and would have set a hopeful tone for season 3, instead of leaving us knowing that Barry just selfishly messed things up. Again.

But enough about that! I loved the season finale. I thought that was a very clever way to dispatch Zoom, without outright killing him. I have a feeling we'll be seeing him again. I also LOVE that Jay Garrick is the same actor as Barry's Father. I very much hope that, at some point in season 3, we reunite with Jay and discover that Jesse (Quick) has discovered powers of her own and has been training under Jay.

All in all, I am glad with the way season 2 wrapped up, but their setup for season 3 is, in my opinion, lazy. Stretching that into a whole season is going to take some serious work...

As to Season 3, I have a new theory...

The first half of Season 3 will be the Flashpoint Paradox, with very likely ramifications to Arrow as well because they're set on the same Earth.

Legends of Tomorrow will likely not be affected because of temporal isolation, the characters being "unstuck" in time, etc. They will be the ones to discover things are wrong and this will likely bring back Snart from his heroic demise.

Supergirl will likely not have any issues at all because of it being a different Earth.

That said, the massive Supergirl/Flash/Arrow/Legends of Tomorrow crossover coming in December will most likely see an ending of the Flashpoint Paradox story and then a unification of the Flash/Arrow Earth and the Supergirl Earth, thereby making crossing over between shows a lot easier. Also, certain other characters who died will likely be brought back *cough*Laurel*cough*cough*

Also, anyone wanna pick up that phone? 'Cause I *****ng CALLED IT...

I remember guessing that the Man in the Iron Mask was at first JWS as The Flash (though not the one we were given) and later that it was Jay Garrick. I just didn't count on it being both.

since enough time has passed, i dont mind not using the spoilers now..
but, just in case...

Nice tribute to Ghost with the phantom wraiths.

I'm still confused how a past time remnant doesn't erase barry from the past if he dies.

Just HOW many barry's, like benders, are there in that one shot in the past now? I think at least four. You have the one from season one ender behind the door. you have the one that was there fighting zoom. you have newer season 2 barry, and also young barry if you want to count him. my question is, since s2 and door barry are the same, how come both didn't vanish?

So glad the final battle wasn't just a straight flat out race and they added to it.

like i said before, i don't get emotional much, but seeing 90s flash put on the suit again (even though I didn't watch that show, still a cool moment) and all the well written goodbyes('cisco' about did it for me)....where almost enough ;o)

Five, if you count Young Barry.

1) Young Barry
2) Barry that was fighting Thawne and took Young Barry away.
3) Barry that came back to stop Nora's death (with the red emblem).
4) Barry that waved Red Emblem Barry off from stopping Nora's death.
5) Barry that came back and stopped Nora's death.

Lordy you ain't the only one...

The only complaint I have about the Real Jay Garrick putting on the suit was when he put on the helmet just before taking Harry and Jessie back to Earth 2. I can't get past how it was sitting all cockeyed on his head.

like I Said, tough to keep track of just how many flash's where in that room ;o).

there was another little funny moment i don't think many people notice. as all the goodbyes are happening, jay is just casually sitting there on the railing watching. i don't know why, but that got a big laugh out of me. like he was happy to have the suit back on and just enjoying the moment ;o).

This keeps up, there's gonna be like fifty Barrys in the house at the same time.

Barry 1: "You don't understand! I need to save mom!"
Barry 2: "You can't! It will destroy the world!"
Barry 3: "I just feel bad because I kissed Iris. It's like kissing my sister!"
Barry 4: "Dude, get over it. You know she's the one."
Barry 5: "Listen things got so screwed up that now I've got to kill our mom!"
Barry 6: "What the hell, man? You can't just up and kill our mom like that!"
Barry 7: "Don't mind me, I'm just grabbing our favorite toy from when we were a kid. Figure this thing could be worth a small fortune."
Barry 8: "I'm just grabbing that book Mom used to read to us."
Barry 9: "So you're telling me that there's multiple Earths? Awesome!"
Barry 10: "Dude. Supergirl is so hot..."
Barry 11: "Who the hell's Supergirl?"
Barry 12: "Oh cool! We actually have our favorite drink in the fridge! They discontinued this stuff in 2007!"
Barry 13: "Dude! Gimme!"
Barry 14: "Yoink!" *grabs the drinks and runs out*
Barry 15: "He's getting away! Catch him!"
*all Flashes run out*

Thawne: "Finally."
Nora: "I know, right? He was getting annoying."
Thawne: "You have NO idea." *stabs Nora*
