Limited Run CW Flash V2 & Reverse FLash cowls Limited Run

My head is really small (21.5 inches) so I need to pinch the back and hold the chin piece up, in order for it to look correct.
Pinching the back also moves the ears back a little though. I'm still going to try and modify it to fit my face better.
After I figure out how to make a lifecast of my head, I plan to sculpt the mask on top, if that makes sense.
Going to trim the extra away and glue back together, then maybe have an elastic band on the inside with padding and the zipper for the neck.
P.S. this is what the V1 cowl looked like on me

Wow that's... Err..

Disconcerting (as I have a 22.5" head)

I wonder if you could make the life cast and find a way to "heat shrink" it ever so slightly...

Wow I really wish I saw pictures and head sizes posted on the first run....

Oh well when it comes and it really doesn't fit.. The season 2 buzz will sell it (and we can all just move along).

All of us with smaller head or without the pronounced jawline required (this pictures are like.... Yeah they are like... Yeah... Just) *sigh

The way your talking about attempting to fix it kinda seems like as much work as making 1 from scratch?

I guess it could still make a terrific display piece OR if anyone can find a manniquin with 24" head.. (Or the one from the show) but I've been looking for the proper head display since before I joined the run with absolutely no luck..

_____

How about we get some more client images of v1's with posted head sizes.. Come on guys post them up!! (Please!?)

As I said my head is 22.5" so I'd love to see the cowl on a 23" head but with everyone having differing jaw lines as well who even knows..

Still looks great even if it doesn't fit (you) great.. But to truly display this piece (and never wear it... Wow) it's going to take a good manniquins with a 24" head... If we can't find those they won't even "fill out" when on display..

Crap... JK.. I feel like you just let all the air out of my project with 1 small picture set (yeah it sucks but wow am I glad I never bought that jacket, silver lining in everything)

Or if you guys have been shrinking them or padding them or... I don't even know what to say but please share your work for those of us in the same boat as JK

Not disappointed in the run or the quality (and timing) of the run... Just dissaponted in myself for not realizing this may be an issue (way back at the beginning)... So guys any fixes or really any suggestions will be absolutely appreciated.

Thanks again

Re: CW Flash V2 & Reverse FLash cowls **collecting balance for RF**

@TheRocketeer You know I was always curious of the sizing haha but yeah! It does appear that more people are also curious about the sizing now.

It's not easy to make a mask that will fit everyone's head. I'd say the mask is made for average head size.
Maybe a tad bigger but my head is really small. Not just in forehead circumference, in width too.

It will probably fit most of you guys pretty well. Especially, if you put some padding on the top. No need to be disconcerted.
I put some thin bubble wrap on the top of mine, just to see and it fits a little better.
My main problem is the jaw and the sides need to be pinched.

..but I am taking the time to modify this! I will never sell these. They are irreplaceable, in my opinion.
It would save me a lot of trouble if I could put it on top of my lifecast and shrink it, in some magical way haha

Otherwise, definitely a lot of work.
If I fail (this city), the cowl will still be THE MOST accurate display piece.

Re: CW Flash V2 & Reverse FLash cowls **collecting balance for RF**

Sorry if my post came out wrong and thanks so much for adding your head size to your photos. (That helps A LOT!)

As this is 90% a display piece yet still 10% to wear. I'm of course 100% concerned about how that 10% looks when worn.

If we also couldn't even find or make or have made something to "display" it properly (like the manniquins I keep coming up short on).. Then my 90% of the time displaying it will degrade it so far that I won't even get to wear it 10% of the time.

So I'm 100% worried about that 10% of fitment (anyone who doesn't admit that would be lying).

I'm also truly concerned in nailing down the safest way to display the cowl itself to reduce degradation (or sagging/stretching). Jaw line could deform over time (or warp off center).

The reason I even bring it up is from displaying Bat cowls. They could sometimes get bent "ears" or other minor issues basically just from being on display that takes away from their original epic ness (or indeed the value when they are rare rare pieces, such as this)

So again I alologize if my post offended anyone. As you can see in my original (unedited) post.. This pieces display worthiness could NOT be challenged.

My only question was to fitment because I'm like JK... We seem to both be cursed with these huge brains, like probably genius level or something who knows.. (But these teeny tiny heads, lol)

So again I'm sorry and ANY help on ways to properly display the cowl will be greatly appreciated (since display is the 90% of the time plan.. That's kinda important to me) so please post up your display ideas with those pictures!!

Re: CW Flash V2 & Reverse FLash cowls **collecting balance for RF**

You can always get a mannequin head. If it's too small you can build it up with clay, maybe smooth it out and paint it chrome like the show's display

Re: CW Flash V2 & Reverse FLash cowls **collecting balance for RF**

Yeah it's not easy to make a helmet/mask that will fit everyone, it's impossible. These are as accurate as possible to the screen cowls, meaning they were originally tailored to fit the actors and their own respective head sizes, and I don't remember reading 'one size fits all' in the title description, just saying.

Re: CW Flash V2 & Reverse FLash cowls **collecting balance for RF**

Yup yup ^

Re: CW Flash V2 & Reverse FLash cowls **collecting balance for RF**

Yep that's exactly what I believe... They were originally tailored to fit each specific actor.

So actually your wrong and the run actually IS or would be considered, 1 size fits "most" (since they aren't in the actors specific sizes)

On set there are 3 different actors with 3 different heads, and as such I believe 3 different sized cowls.. All custom

OG reverse has a block head
Wells reverse has a narrow head
Grant has an.. Oblong head? lol

So yes..

I realize the 24" head wasn't chosen for true and total "screen accuracy" it was chosen to fit the most potential clients onto the run (and I truly appreciate rocketeer doing this run for us)

I'm basically saying if I got a screen cowl (or even a pull).. I wouldn't expect it to fit me at all (I'd assume it's made specifically for someone else)

Since this actually IS a one size fits "most" run (or that's what I was partially lead to believe?). I think that makes it okay for me to ask questions or have personal concerns about fitment..

Screen used = fits that guy only, don't assume it will fit anyone else. Where as run pieces traditionally give up that true to screen scale in order to fit the most potential buyers (so we all have a greater chance to fit this one as its being made in a universal scale)..

Otherwise the reverse cowl shouldn't be the same as the flash cowl because they are drastically different people with different heads, different jaw lines, ear lines, eye lines, cheek bones and indeed different facial structure (so the cowls are different not just be design.. But by scale/sizing as well)

In the end we are buying these to wear on occasion (so I felt my questions/concerns were valid) where as if you had actually heavily invested into the screen piece.. You'd never assume you would/could/should ever be able to actually wear it

Again I'm sorry Rocketeer.. Any other questions or concerns I'll just PM..

This back and forth isn't necessary in a "sales" thread so I apologize (and am very very thankful for the run)

Oh and btw I've searched and searched but still can't find any 24" manniquins heads (even the hat display ones were listed at 21")..

Honestly, I don't think they exist so ANY help would be so so appreciated (maybe my google-fu skills need some practice?) but yeah.. I can't find them so please please post those links!!

Or post up how your displaying these over the long term to avoid common display cowl issues (like sag.. Or warping off center.. Like batman ears or maybe the chin will do on these flash cowls without some sort of support).. I've been asking and asking but no one ever posts anything viable for long term display/storage.

So what do you guys all do? How are you making these last "forever" (for lack of a better word)

Sorry for not responding sooner. I'm away until tmrw then back to the shop...

anyway a this is really not the place for all this. You could just PM me your concerns. And I still don't get what your after. I hang my cowls up in a helmet "hanger" that's screwed to the wall....for the last 2yrs. No distortion or any problems. If you really want something else I do sell an earless Bale bust that is tall enough for these cowls, and it's about 23" but I'd have to confirm that once I'm back home. There are also many other busts for sale on this forum you could choose from. But I don't see why my thread is getting slammed for not having a storage solution?

You are correct, this is not the place to blast someones thread. We all know what were buying. The best of the best. Screen accurate cowls or helmets that are NOT guaranteed to fit every melon out there. I don't recall seeing one size fits all shapes of heads. Its not going to happen. Honestly how many ppl walk around wearing these things? If anyone has concerns or issues, take them up in PMs period!! If you're a potential buyer ask the seller your concerns and decide.

Yup. Fyi guys..

I was just showing LordWast because he wanted to see the cowl on someone lol

Just added the info on my head size to explain what you were looking at..

Had no idea it would start all this

Re: CW Flash V2 & Reverse FLash cowls **collecting balance for RF**

I wasn't "slamming" your thread, or your work (and I'm pretty sure if I was.. He could stick up for himself) so please just allow me to apologize if that's what you believe.. Again I'm super pleased to be part of the run, that's it

Thanks

Cowl fits very nicely on top of this display :thumbsup

Re: CW Flash V2 & Reverse FLash cowls **collecting balance for RF**

It really does. Picture doesn't do it justice.

It's a 22" size head from Amazon. A pretty snug fit too. There's barely any space between the head and the mask. It keeps it's shape pretty well.
