Hello everyone! First time poster here.

I'm looking to do the CW's Black Canary.

If you go to cosplay sky they have pictures of all the separate pieces for reference but I'm not sure about the quality and I think building your own is more fun!

So far I have a jacket, pants, wig, and a bead on some masks. I'm looking for the corset and as similar belt which I can't seem to find. Does anyone have any suggestions? I was hoping this would be an easy build but not so much.

Exact isn't necessary but pretty close is great.

Thanks for the help!

Thanks! I looked at the other thread but I didnt see anyone who had suggestions about the top. That's what I'm struggling with the most.

Does anyone have suggestions for the lacing on the pants? I was thinking about gluing lacing onto some leather like stretch leggings I have and wasn't sure if glue would hold.

Do you have access to a sewing machine and/or the ability to use one? Sometimes you've got to get creative, but if you can, it never hurts to just do it "properly" (and I say that very loosely :lol ).

I can mostly manage to sew in a semi straight line so I'm afraid unless I wanted to go as the mentally deranged Black Canary sewing a corset would be out of my realm of abilities.

I'd be skeptical of lacing staying on leggings... stretching + moving + glue seems like it could be a problem.

The cosplaysky suit looks pretty good for the money. People seem to like their Arrow stuff... Hmm... I wonder if I can recruit a Canary out here?

Yes, I wondered if I put the pants on and glued the lacing down that it would stay on better. I'll have to mess around with it tomorrow.

Here is a screencap of the cosplaysky pants, any suggestions on replicating this for the sewing inept?

I really feel like taking this as an opportunity to learn to sew might be the best bet. All of the skills I have came from needing them for a project... I think it's the best way to learn!

I am going to start on the pants soon. I had a corset custom made for me and can post pics when it arrives. Mayhaps I will do a breakdown of the pants process - would anyone be interested in that?

I would. We're dissatisfied with my lady's Cosplaysky pants, as well.

The thing that bugs me about cosplay sky (aside from their hellishly long turn around time) is the lacing. It's a cheap silk blend where the lacing on the show looks a lot more like leather. I've ordered a pair of faux leather moto pants and I'm hoping to graft a lattice on top of it. That is, sew criss cross lacing between two strips and then either sew or glue it onto the pants. I noticed the lacing on the pants are not straight up and down; they look like they change width over the leg to enhance contouring. Or maybe I'm just crazy.
