Customizing an MR clone helmet

Thinking about painting my white MR clone helmet to try to
turn it into e.g. a Bly bucket. Any advice on types of paint?

I agree that auto paints are the best on fiberglass helmets.
Not going to be an easy look to recreate.

I use auto paint for all my Vader lids and it has always served me well.

Good luck with it, looking forward to seeing the end result.

The paint will get a better grip on the surface if you do a light sand and primer.
I would use an 800 grit wet sandpaper to lightly rought the surface and them use auto primer from the same brand of paints you plan to use.
Be carefull as some primers do not work with some paints. (I learned that the hard way on a Vader helmet.)

And several light coats is better that a big messy run in the paint.

You need Krylon Old Equipment Yellow. And you need a a taupe brown (I used Duplicolor Cummins Beige DE1638). Here is my Bly before I sold it...

I do not wear MR, but the paints were good. Be sure to weather.

That's a really nice Bly helmet, I'm having one made and I hope it comes out that good.
