Hi!

I want to start pretty soon so I'm happy about every piece of information I can get.
I plan to build an ewok (no particular one - just an ewok) as a friend of mine is about to turn her room "into" Endor.
There is not much space so I had the idea of creating an ewok lying in kind of a hammock at the ceiling, looking down.

Did anyone build an ewok before? Any information on the net would be great.

Thanks!

What paint(s) did you use to paint the 1/6 scale Kaiyodo C-3PO kikt?Looks fantastic?I can't find any good gold/sliver/chrome metalics short of enamesl, and enamels and vinyl kits don't mix.I have both a kaiyodo and Scream'in 1/6 scale kit of C-3PO as well as R2.Be nice to finish them.

You'd have better luck posting in the right forum (prop forum) then models to get the info...

Well... as a foreign language speaker I still get confused about what belongs into which forum... :confused

I used Plasticote Brilliant Metallic Gold spray paint. It got a great colour finish, but it's a real pain in that it's so soft it still dents and leaves fingerprints in the surface even after months of drying. Oh yeah, and I believe it's only available in the UK.

There are 2 ways to go about it, really. If you want one with a rigid frame for posing, you'd need to make a skeleton from PVC pipes. Then wrap the skeleton with bubble wrap for bulk. For the fur, you may want to try and find a place that has it on a backing and buy it by the yard (as opposed to a bag of hair that has to be punched and trimmed). Get a pattern for a child's jumpsuit and use that for the design of the body.

If you don't need a rigid frame, just build it like a large teddy bear.

For fingers, toes and facial detail, you may have to sculpt those and then cast them in resin.

PVC pipes

Pipes. Pretty good idea. I was going to make the frame of wood - I suppose I need to find myself a diy market right now! :)

Hi there,

Send you a PM with Ewoks that are for sale. You could use them for reference.

Thanks for your help - I finished the ewok yesterday.
The furr is not quite as long as I'd wished but it looks okay. You won't see much of it anyway :)

I'll add some pics on Sunday. I'm with my friend right now and she's got no idea that we're going to add this little (actually its quite big) piece of decoration to her room :angel

Hi Bhelia,

Cool, I know you from the Jedi Con.

I also built some ewoks. But in 12 inch scale.
Love to see the result. You have to watch: FROM STAR WARS TO JEDI and The making of Return Of The Jedi!
