Customer build 1/350 NX-01

Not sure just yet but there are possible three inbound. A blockade runner, a Enterprise D, and a Star Destroyer. We'll see.

A Constitution Class Refit, a Galaxy Class, and a Miranda Class Starship all walk into a bar...

The Constitution Class and the Galaxy Class hook up with various cruisers pretty quickly and move off to other parts of the bar, but the Miranda Class is left nursing his drink.
The Miranda Class IS approached by several cruisers but they all shake their heads and move away pretty quickly.
Later on both the Constitution Class and the Galaxy Class see the Miranda Class leaving the bar so they run after him to find out what's the matter.
When they catch up with him down the street, the Constitution Class say's "Hey, I'm the Enterprise Refit and this is The Enterprise D...what's your name?"
The Miranda Class responds, "No-body knows! You see my old decals were CRAP and and fell apart during transfer and Acreation doesn't offer any yet for my make and Model!"

OK...it's a work in progress...:lol

No offense intended there, I don't even own a Reliant Kit yet...though I have been eye-balling one down at the local hobby shop.
 
I hope to debut the Reliant aztecs and aztecs for the Galaxy Quest Protector at the show. Possibly another set but it will depend on time. "Technically" the Reliant aztecs will be for the old AMT kit, because Round 2 has their own set you can buy for the reissue. But I "suppose" mine would also fit the new reissue, since their tooling changes are not in areas that would affect the decals I'm making for the original.

Looking forward to seeing these! Would you be able to scale them up to 1:350??? Just out of curiosity....

Just a tip I came up with for those working on NX kits, or planning builds for the future...

Metalizer brass is the only metalizer paint in Testors line that could come close to the gold accents on the NX, but its much to bright. Alclad II has Pale Gold which seems to be a pretty good match, but I haven't seen it in person.

This trick will only work when airbrushing. And you'll need a needle on the larger size, like a .30 or larger. I ran into clogging issues with my .23 needle in my Custom Micron C+.

Mix about 1:1 of metalizer non buffing aluminum and non buffing brass together. I would say start with a little aluminum and add brass to it and you can adjust it for how much brass hue you want. Its easier than starting with x amount of brass and then adding aluminum to tone it down to where you want.

It really came out nice compared to straight metalizer brass.

Nice and subtle, and not in your face like I've had with the straight brass on previous builds.

Thanks for showing us the MIM lighting kit for the NX!
Got mine yesterday and it works great. Saved me alot of headache trying to wire mine up. Without your inspiration it would have been a harder road!
