Every time I see her I just get a giddy feeling all over.:love:love Cant' wait to see her completly finished. Steve, Thanks so very much for sharing this build with us. I feel that I can tackle this model now.

And grows and grows. Thanks very much Space Rat and CCP.

Well all the Aztecs are on. Yikes it took 6 days. I found that a number 2 pencil is an excellent match for adding a bit of fill and or another Aztec or two. Touch up too. Perfect match.

The bottom was a lot harder that I had thought. Next I coat of clear tomorrow. I want to make sure they are completely dry. If not I might wait another day. I need to check for webbing and if found slice it with the Exacto and put a bit of Solvaset. But I gave it the once or and it looks pretty tight.

Back to the big Enterprise tomorrow!

BTW. I have the base nearly completed. This is a temporary base until the owner can replace it if need be. I still have to paint the pole. It is removable so it can be shipped and or placed in a different base.

Fantastic work. I keep forgetting that there are still more decals to apply.

I really think they could have used this build as a physical prop to film with.

I'm not a Trek fan but this looks mighty cool Steve!! How much do you charge for this commission work any way?

That looks friggin awesome Steve. I can't beleive how good those decals look. The build, paint, lighting all look beautiful. Glad the stand is a temp, that paint cap looks.... well like a paint cap!

Thanks Zombie I just need a fitting of some type to go there. The cap was handy and looked better than the hole around the pole. It's nearly impossible to drill dead center and have it fit to the pole and the out edge of the base both.

Thanks you guys for all the kind comments. And yes Rob there are more decals. It rained all last night and it's about to rain again. So I dare not shoot clear today or even tomorrow until things dry out a bit. So back to the big Enterprise.

Steve

Beautiful work Steve! I would rather have seen your build used for the TV show instead of the CGI version.

This is something I had just thought of but on the nacelle struts where it has the grooved sections just forward of the "E" sections, would it be feasible for builders to paint those sections something dark like Metalizer Gun Metal. Color the section there around the grooves masked off from the rest of the strut. Seal the metalizer with the sealer, apply a clear gloss coat like you did in this build, and then use something like a silver or aluminum acrylic paint as a sludge wash to lighten the areas in the grooves, and wipe away the raised areas leaving the dark lines. It was just a thought, not sure if it would work or not. I'm a much better graphic designer than model builder so I'm not sure about it, but I know you can use lighter colors in some aircraft for panel lines on darker paint schemes instead of a dark wash and get a good worn effect.

Just ordered the Aztec Decals from Acreation last week mostly due to this build. Great stuff all around!
Hey Steve...you mentioned another Trek Ship Build at one point...is that in another thread here at RPF and if so can you post a link to it please?
Thanks again!

Wow, very nice, makes me want to add it into my series of Enterprise builds which I started only with 1701.

I bet when Steve gets to the kit decals he's going to with I'd put all those hundreds of tiny little black tic markings into the aztec decals... Sorry steve, I thought about it but decided not to.

You are right there. I wish you had. But they won't take to long. Nothing to cut out or section.

I have not been getting email notices from these posts the last two days. Sorry i missed all you guys and I wanted to thank you all for the super nice comments. Wow you're all too kind!

Steve

BTW.

So the last two days I have spent killing myself cleaning out and throwing away 11 years worth of crap taking up my work space in my shop. It was time. I hired a friend to help me it was so bad. It looked like a hoarders episode! All nice now.
Back to this model tomorrow!

Steve
