Over a year ago, I started making one-off acrylic coins for the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers Legacy Morpher. There were a few basic designs that I "mass-produced", but most of the coins that I sold were ideas submitted by other people. I've slowed down the production of these so I could focus on other things, but here are a few of my favorites. You can go to my Facebook page to see more. I get the parts made at Ponoko, but I'm hoping to invest in a laser cutter later next year.
Earlier this year, I bought a Shapeoko for my prop-making. I realized that I I could work with a wider ranger of materials. Here are the first two coins that I made on the CNC. The first was a simple MDF coin. It fits in the morpher just like all of my other coins. The second was made of solid acrylic. It's a little rough around the edges because I'm still playing around with the settings for acrylic, but it gets the idea across. Eventually, I plan on upgrading my Shapeoko so it can handle aluminum and I can crank out one-off aluminum coins.
