Custom Millenium Falcon themed figure stand

I've been collecting some of the sideshow 1:6th Star Wars figures for a while now. They aren't quite up to HotToys quality yet but they're the best SW figures available. Anyway, the guy downstairs was doing some sort of renovation and had leftover wood sitting on the porch so I slapped some sheet styrene and some parts from my collection of crap for greeblies. Cannibalized a sideshow figure stand and after some paint and weathering..

Warning.. for the accuracy nuts, while this stand is intended to represent a certain section of the Falcon, it is more meant to evoke the FEEL of the falcon (as the section being represented would be HUGE in 1:6th scale and this was made with scraps) It is also not painted in the correct colors. I opted instead for a "warmer" color to the paint.

I'm digging this stand :D

A user on the sideshow forums was interested in casting copies and I had enough left over to make ONE more base. I'm going to finish it and send it to him for that purpose.
That said.. there are a couple of bits that might make it difficult, the pipes could be tricky and the round vents on the front are from an electric shaver and could make casting difficult (but again, I don't know).
Anyway, I have been documenting this one

I started by cutting my board

Then, I skinnned it with Sheet styrene (that I had pre-scored to simulate hull panels)

I'll probably finish up the build tonight. I'll post pictures of my progress.

haha, yup. The Sideshow Indy cleans up pretty well. There are a couple of sites that part out figures so, while I own the Sideshow Indy (whose head and clothes are on a MUCH better body) I bought two spare hatless Indys so I could make a Han and a Rick Deckard. :lol
Hard part is trying to find near-accurate clothes for Deckard. There have been a couple of Deckard figures over the years but finding their clothes parted out or even finding their figures just to GET those clothes is difficult.
My deckard is using the HotToys Joker shirt.

Thanks guys. I finished the greeblies tonight..

Someone mentioned an ESB han on the "hood" here?

Broke out my paints..

I start with the Pebble color
P1080039.jpg

hit a few areas with "river rock" to add a light layer of weathering (probably not very noticeable.. these colors are all pretty close)
P1080040.jpg

and add a mist of light aircraft gray from the front (again.. light weathering)
P1080041.jpg

Tomorrow, the weathering in earnest begins.. rust, oil, and "water" stains will be added.

Thank you, I started weathering the second base tonight...

I'll do more to it tomorrow after work. I played online with my cousin for a while tonight :p

Other figures might say:

"You came here on that thing? You're braver then I thought!" ;)

Again, very nice work, especially the in progress shots. This base compliments the figures very nicely.

Excellent idea, and nicely pulled off! I've a 1/3 scale figure that I'm sculpting this week and am looking for base ideas, thanks for the inspiration!

I love this!!! you should do one where he's standing over one of the Flacon's "holes." After seeing these, i'm willing to bet you could scratch that in a heart beat!! Nicely Done!!!

I'd love to do one where Han and Chewie are working on/in one of the holes.
Anyone know the diameter of them in 1:6 ? All I have here is a few prints from online, the old ertl model, and a 1997 ish hasbro falcon lol

I took a couple of pics that show how far off my scale is LOL
