Whats up everyone at RPF ! :cool

I'm new to the family here, and would like to show my contribution(s).

They call me Exeter, I'm 24 and have been a prop enthusiast for quite some time. I would like to introduce my friend and I's custom made Halloween costumes for 2010.

I'm introducing the Exeter Armor Iron Man suit as well as the Stealth Combat War Machine!

Both suits are completely made from cardboard and layers, upon layers of duct tape. Around 200.00 $ and more in duct tape and nearly hundreds of lbs of cardboard have been cut down, shaped, layered and masked to reproduce these suits in our vision. Please enjoy and let us know what you think!

The YouTube link has all of our current progress so far, in action.

Also, please swing by my profile to see a full color photo gallery of the creation of these suits ! If you have any questions, comments, concerns or would like some help, we'll be sure to get at you ! Thank you everyone !

Interesting use of materials. I'm not a fan of the finish, personally, with how it's wrinkled, but they are better than I can do. Hehe.

Hey, thanks alot friend! Again, hopefully some of you may have stopped by so see the rest of the pictures, they're both very very close to being finished. (so if you see no crotch piece or legs....we just havnt taken updated pics for the past month or so) But yeah, on our budget, i dont think we can be beat! Proving that you can do anything w/ cardboard.

haha, thanks alot man ! you should see some of the other pics if you havn't already. We're gonna be putting up pics of the mark 1 whiplash suit as well, soon. Appreciate you takin the time to look at em !

Hey, i appreciate your feedback. I understand what with the wrinkled and shiny-ness that you mean (hopefully you saw some of the other pics) but we plan on re-layering them in the next week to even everything out, as this is just the first layer for substance, next is finishing. But, in my town, we're sort of known as the gods of cardboard, we really wanted to stay true to our nature. But i really appreciate you taking the time to check our suits out!

Hey dude, love the suits, just a word of advice, there is a quote button you can use so people know whose comments are being responded to. You might wanna use it int the future or mention names when you are typing a reply instead of using dude all the time dude. LOL

Can't wait to see them finished!

haha, thanks alot for checkin it out man. And appreciate the heads up, i have no idea how to do anything on here, haha. So, apologies for the mass replies in odd direction. Still getting used to finding my own threads and what not. You just schooled me, appropriately.

What did you use for the lights? LED's? I think I found another reason why I like the suits they were made in my home state :p

Hey Javelin, first, thanks for checkin out the suits! I'm glad you like them!
To answer your question, the LEDS are a battery pack (2 AA batteries) with a 10 - 20 led bulb string (depending if you want 10 or 20) they come in multiple colors...about 5-8 bucks for the pack. You can find them at a Pat Catans or craft store in the Holiday Light section. Obviously i used the ol' tap lights for the repulsors, but i modified em a bit. But yeah man, real easy, wanted to prove to the people, you can make anything completely out of cardboard, haha. If your diggin that, wait till i post pics of the Whiplash suit...mark 1.
