Those of you who are members of The Colonial Fleet may have seen my thread from a few years ago, or more recently on Sci-Fi Hero of my custom blaster.

For those who aren't members and those member who may have missed it, here it is.

Warning: Image heavy, so will do a few posts (Is there a image limit per post anyway)

This is what my gun started out as

I bought the base gun from a local cheap shop called funnily enough Mr Cheap for £1 because I thought I might be able to convert it into a BSG Blaster. I decided that it would probably be better suited as a Season 1 Blaster

This is it after I started to hack it up

I then decided to repainted the grip, as I felt that it was too bright originally.

Re: Custom BSG Blaster

A while ago I started to do another custom BSG Blaster (based more on the Season 2 onwards one) using a Logic3 P99L Laser Blaster for the PS2

I started by gutting the electronics from the inside. There was a motor in the grip that allowed the slide to move when the trigger was pulled. While the wires were discounted, I decided to keep the motor in the grip as it added weight.

I then started cutting out the under-sling part where the buttons were housed, as I felt that it would be easier. I'm not sure whether I am right yet though :D

Here's the pics (All taken after I cut away the button housing)

The next thing I did was to buy a cheap permanent marker (from a pack of 4 for 0.99p) to act as the barrel for the launcher.

I then cut away more of the underslung part

Some recent progress

Firstly I added some cardboard to the cover part of the gap where the underslung part

I also cut down the marker tubing

I also made an explosive round using an old Sharpie

I also started making the support sections for the launcer

I cut out about 25 or so of these, which will be grouped into about 3 sections and then I will added the out panels

I myself have an Electric Airsoft FN-57 that I've been intending on turning into a replica. I've just been rather busy to figure out how to make the launcher section of the gun (which I've considered scratchbuilding with either bass wood and then making a mold from it or maybe even using pink foam and bondo)

Nice project!

May I recommend to use plastic sheet (styrene, ABS...) to build?
It gives much better results with a more smooths surface. I always find it kind of distracting when a prop shows the rough, textured surface of carboard.

Thanks guys

The project is now finished, minis a few touch ups here and there.

OdiWan I still want with cardboard , mostly because I didn't see your reply until it was too late. I will keep your advice in mind for whenever I decide to something similar.

Here's the progress pics.

Thanks guys.

I've modified the launcher slightly by overlaying clear plastic from the packaging of some Star Wars figures onto the cardboard.
