Custom belt wanted, HELP!

I'm looking for a suede belt, or just a blank strip of suede. It needs to be 2.5 inches wide, and a minimum of 60 inches long. It must be a shade of brown, midle of the road is fine, not a beige/off white, and not as dark as a chocolate brown. But will live with darker rather than lighter. I am trying to make a Jack Sparrow type of belt. I already have a buckle, just need the belt. I've been all over the net, and can't find a supplier, and I've hit ebay, and don't want to pay a premium. Any help will be appreciated, Jon.

Did you try Tandy Leather?
Sounds like you just need a belt-blank turned rough side out. You can dye it yourself with leather dye also available from Tandy.

That sounds like an option, and I will look into it, but I'm thinking the leather blanks are going to be too stiff. I think suede is going to be a ot more pliable. At least I'm thinking so in my head. I'd rather not go through all of the dyeing, weathering, steps if I don't have to. But I may, if I don't want to pay the premium. if i were in your shoes, I would just buy a completed one from ebay
the were about $200 back in Oct when I got mine, so it is relatively less expensive
as i own sith-world and acme's. sith's is softer, acme's is harder.
and once you recieve the belt, then sell your extra buckle.

The belt blanks at tandy's are really really thick for belts. They're not the "priate thin". What I did was get a shoulder for $16 from them, and cut out my length in a 2.5" strip. Then dyed, distressed and softened it.

You might watch ebay for SCA belts. There are always folks offering basic leather SCA ring belts in varying colors, widths and lengths at reasonable prices. Clip the ring and attach your own buckle. Suede may not be so common, though.

A google search for SCA leather merchants will likely turn up quite a few links to possible sources for something custom.

Suede isn't good for belts of straps. Just a thinner ounce weight of leather would work.

Hey, yes I am a member here, for awhile but this is my first post. As for the belt, you don't want to use suede, its too thin. Then again I don't know what it looks like exactly. If your looking for a thin, soft, medium brown leather then you might want to try a oil-tan (utility side) Of course tandy will only sell you a whole side, I do have some on hand all the time, I can strip it out for you if you need it. It sounds simple enough. Just 60 inches in length? And 2 1/2" was it??? just shoot me a pm....you wanna send me a pic of the belt so I can know exactly what your looking for?
