finished :)
ears are just stuck on with double sided tape thats why there are hair line gaps
the cheek detail piece will be added once the helmet is cast, such a small piece would just form an air pocket in the mould.

WOW holy crap! That's awesome Nathan, why is it that this is the first time I've heard of this?? ;)

starting to build one helmet up as a test run for painting.
used a saw to remove the excess resin from the base and sanded the rest of the stump off.
i then drilled a hole in the base to allo it to be mounted on the sideshow statue. plus it gives a place to stick a peg in so i dont have to handle the piece while painting it.
the rest of the shots show the piece after initial sanding, filling and first primer coats.
Nathan :)

just quickly handpainted on some test colours to see how they look.

ill have to try weathering them down to see what it does to the base colours.

finished painting my first attempt last night and im really pleased with it, learned a lot from doing it. its all handpainted. if i do it again ill break out the airbrush.
