Curious auction for a Trek prop.

I was notified of this auction from banned member PaulF2000.

The auction notes I "created" this prop. Longtime friend of PailF2000 is Dave B.(RPF member "anibispro") and Dave B. owned the mold. I merely cleaned and painted this copy. The grip is not screen accurate as I made adjustments to it when I finished it about 11 years ago.

Some of you may recall a previous listing for this same prop. The listing was ended early when I posted a thread here on the RPF about what was stated in that previous listing.

I post this to clarify that I don't make castings of trek TV props and to let anyone here who may have bid know about the screen accuracy.

A speedy update to the listing. No mention in the auction on my quote how Dave owned the mold and Pauls banning. I wonder if Paul remembers the law enforement officer who had to visit Dave and Paul at the shop Paul claimed to be an owner of. I wonder if Paul recalls Dave talking to the officer about Pauls behavior while Paul skulked into Kims office. I quit Kims shop after working there for 4 years because of Paul. After working at Kims shop (which promptly shut down) Paul went on to his tenure at Icons in '97.

For a while now I have been content to be on this forum and read about various subjects that interest me. Like "Replica Props". I detest all the bickering, politics and pointless debates that permeate this hobby because of a vocal few. Thus, I dont post very often.
You have responded to a few of my earlier posts as someone who "pretended" to not know me at all. This should tell volumes, and does. I never responded because I dont like pointless arguments,...and because I know about you mental "condition".

However, when you start spreading your delusional rants in my direction, I have no choice but to set the record straight.

Fact: DaBar Enterprises was founded and wholly owned by "ME" Dave Barkovitz,..get it,..DA-BAR...?
Anubis Productions was in turn owned (and still is) by DaBar Enterprises.
DaBar has always been and still is owned by me.
Kim J. is my long time friend and came to work at DaBar with me long after I opened the biz.
You never worked there in any capacity other than casually. I remember quite a few STAR TREK props you brought in for whatever reason.
The Bjoran pistol was one of the firsts , IIRC.

Your quote from Kim J, is quite "interesting" as Kim never considered himself to own the company. I speak with him often,..I'm sure he will be pleased to know he always owned DaBar. (Hmmm, perhaps I should make him pay the bills....) But then,..he knows about your "condition" too.

The only "officer" I remember coming to MY office was some sad Dillards rent-a-cop that had to respond to my complaint about one of their employees (you) leaving threatening messages on MY phone from their business. Was there another I cant remember?

ATM, It is clear you never liked Paul and resented him coming to DaBar,...but dont ladle your "issues" on me and MY company.

I don't really care to go on about this. My apologies to the board. I just wanted to notify my fellow RPF's about an inaccurate prop. I also wanted to post a correction about me and a further correction about the auction update. So basically, defend myself. I will now defend myself further.

"ATM"? How typically unimaginative of you Dave but then progress is not a guarantee in life. Reminds me of early grade school humor.

I never pretended to not know you Dave. I just made posts as I normally would. I was already aware that you knew my user name. Would you have me ask "Hey Dave ol' buddy, how have you been these years?" Dave who left town to work at the disreputable Icons owing me various props(one of which was an endo rifle that sells for about $2000 last I checked) as well as cash. Should I be so jovial to the guy who messed with my personal life and tried to have me fired from my full time job? Should I be friendly to a guy whos partner stalked me and came to my apartment complex, walked into my apartment managers office and tried to get my apartment number only to be told repeatedly to leave(I have documentation from this incident by the way). And yes I did see you driving your truck through my apartnment complex parking lot. Halloween night you drove through my apartment parking lot and I was right behind you. Also, by your rationale you would have "pretended" as well as you never made note that you reconized me in those same threads.

Your use of the word rant doesn't seem to fit. I don't see any name calling. And gosh, sorry about my delay in posting a reply. I'm so impulsive(sarcasm).

Have Kim contact me if he wants to read his emails where Kim refers to DaBar as his company. He emailed me from his FORMER "elchungo" address. You know I did not have internet or a computer in '97 so your common sense should tell you I would not know Kims address unless he emailed me. I save ALL emails like these. Heres a nice tidbit that Kim said about me: "I appreciate your being polite, but then you always were."

I never brought that Bajoran cast in and your are irresponsible to say so even as an "IIRC". If I did I would have kept that casting for historical purposes as I like to keep documentation if it presents itself. I never got out to the coast and you knew full well that in that pre-internet time of my life I was not budged to travel and make contacts.

To say I left "threatening messages" on your phone is a lie. Dave, you are a former Arizona Sheriffs deputy and you should know better. As a former deputy you should have known that you could have dialed "*57" on your phone and the phone company would trace the call and take action against me if I had actually done something like that. I pointed out the "*57" option to you back in '97 and I am telling you the obvious again now. As a former sheriifs deputy you could have known even more direct action as well...if I had actually made the calls as you claim. I recall Kim telling you that he was concerned that the horse customers would call in and when Paul answered the phone they would hang up and not want to speak to Paul. I think these are the calls you are thinking of.

The officer who visited you was hardly a "rent-a-cop". I remember informing you that someone was going to stop by your shop on my behalf and pick up some things you owed me. You asked me if the person who was going to stop by was someone you knew. I replied you might know him as you were a deputy and as a fellow law enforcement officer you may have met each other in the past at some point. I forget how many years he was a Phoenix police officer. As a former deputy you know you could have sent a rent-a-cop back out the door within seconds of him walking in since security guards have no more authoriity as any person walking on the street. If he was merely a rent-a-cop then Paul would not have hid in Kims office while the officer told you Paul was calling the Bank I worked at and telling the bank he owned the DaBar/Anubis. You obviously read his I.D. I remember he said you were so freaked out that you went pale. His visit was also to get you two to stop calling my work and stop making claims like the one that were already proven wrong. And then there were mysterious calls to my job from guys who claimed to be roofers working on my house when my bosses already had it on file that I lived in an apartment.

Why would Paul still be your friend? Perhaps it's as Kim said in an email: "Dave's okay, he just tends to be too forgiving." Like I said, If you don't believe Kim said this then have Kim email me. As far as me "resenting"(as you put it) Paul, in what light should I see him considering the claims he told to my bosses that were only proven to be wrong. We both know he was messing with my personal life to get me fired(something that you were aware of and a part of). Consider he came to my apartment complex when I expressly told him not to. I see no point in rehashing everything as I could go on longer than this admitedly lenthy post. After working at Kims shop Paul(as well as yourself) went on to Icons and many here already have heard Pauls work history and website bannings since that time. A simple RPF search under Pauls name can tell more. I never said here that Paul was the reason for the shop closing. It's your choice to say overly dramatic things like "killed MY company".

To answer you on the TV Trek prop making. I made TV Trek props for another shop in the early '90's and then I went on to make them for you with the understanding that it was work that Icons was outsourcing to you. When you guys stopped paying me I called Jim Latta to verify your account. I have made no TV Trek props since I made them at your shop in '97. I'd be VERY intersted to see your solid proof to the contrary.

As far as my "sad little reality". What can I say? The truth is often sad and this truth I share is sad as well. I don't obsess over Paul. Someone pointed out the auction to me and I posted a correction about me and my work...but then I already noted that in my first post so please try to keep up with the conversation.

Dave, after reviewing your past I think it can be seen who really needs the "help".

You remember things that I sure dont. Oh, well, I guess that I have been living a lie for over 10 years.
I seems that Kim owned a company named DaBar Ent. I just hung around for no reason,..and paid the bills.
Paul is actually Satan,..sent here from Hell to plague mortals,...and of course "mess with your personal life".
He then hid in Kims office when no less than three Federation Security men beamed into My,..er I mean KIMs office. Because as we all know Paul would rather hide than face conflict.
You have never done anything remotely wrong.
(BTW, I may be Ebaying off the Bajoran pistol you painted for me soon, so heres your chance to get one for "documentation" purposes)

As far as Paul being Satan, that is your choice of wording/drama. Many already know Pauls reputation speaks for itself. In one of your first posts here you said you were reluctant to sign up as you are a friend of Pauls. Now why would you say that is he was a swell guy? Do a RPF search on Paul yourself Dave...or would search results be my super atomic imagination imposing itself into your reality? :lol Notice it's that verifiable proof thing I keep talking about. Since you are such pals with him, how did that terminator issue work out for him? I haven't kept up with it. Actually that is a rhetorical question. I really don't care.

And Dave, you did not have an office. Your desk was in the lobby. Kim had the office that doubled as the shipping room since the company was so small.

It is clear that this thread has gone on for far too long. This accusatory public tirade on the prop forum was not at all appropriate. This should have been addressed privately with the ebay auction owner instead of being spilled all over onto a prop forum. It is clear that personal issues supersede legitimate hobby interests.
