Crystal dagger is here! With big thanks to Ramiel! (pics inside)

I have wanted one of these for years, as they have shown up in pretty much every genre of book I have read.

I never had the chance (or the talent) to really doodle out what I needed or wanted to get, so I asked for people to submit some cool designs a while back to kinda kickstart the ol doodlin engine again.

Well, Ramiel went above and beyond and pretty much nailed this in 3d, and damned if it didn't look sweet!

I sent the files to the company, they liked the idea, and boom, I have a few new additions to the collection. I couldn't decide what colors to get, so I opted for clear, green, and blue. I will probably be selling one or two of them as soon as I figure out what color I want to keep, but for right now here are some pics!

They are all the same shape (but clear things are a nightmare to take pictures of), so there are some nice pics of them all

It isn't a "canon" prop by any means, for any genre show or book, but I always loved the idea of crystal things as weapons or armor, and this really does feel like a sharp dagger or short sword.

It's about 36cm long (roughly 14"), and has a slight bevel in the handgrip, along with 2 faceted points to act as a hand guard. The blade starts out pretty thick in the middle but angles down to the sides pretty well, and down towards the end it starts to get to an even narrower and sharper point.

No idea how I am going to display em yet, but it's nice to have a project to start the new year with!

Yea, what can I say, the guys at the factory do good work, and they had some awesome 3d modeling to speed it along

It is somewhat stake shaped, but I think it's because I didn't get a pic of it from the blade side. It starts out thick in the middle, but flattens out into a <> shape. You can't go too thin on crystal without it breaking.

Cool idea. I like the green one, it looks like it's made from Kryptonite. I believe there wasd a villian in the Superman comics that had Kryptonite bullets, so a knife wouldn't be much of a stretch. Again, cool idea, and it came out beautifully.

These look pretty sweet, hydin; I must admit, I'm partial to the green as well.

Anyone here ever play Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion? It seems like the glass sword from that game would look amazingly sweet made out of crystal like these.
