I never followed the Crimson Empire series so I do not know if this blaster is a new design or not but take look at this blaster from the upcoming Crimson Empire III...

It reminds me a lot of the NuBSG Season one blaster.

Anyhow, I just thought it was cool and thought the image might inspire some talented person to attempt a replica.
