Creating a "weathered" battle worn Vader costume

I'm in the process of making a complete ESB style Vader for trooping. There is something really appealing about the look of Vader with scuffs and scratches.

Are there any tips on creating this worn effect?

I'm starting with a considerably modified Rubies helmet and plan to put the rest of the suit together piece by piece.

how damaged are we talking here? Like falling down a few flights of stairs? Or OMFG Forced unleashed F'd up?

"OMFG Forced unleashed F'd up"

LMAO

Cool project - Lot's of peeps build the standard " clean " version of vader - even myself :)

TC85x poses a good question. How much battle worn/ weathered are you envisioning?

sorry for not so great examples - just grabbed off the weeb

Boba is gonna lose those arms when that blade comes down. :lol

I'd like to keep the "weathered" look at the point where Vader's gear still looks "serviceable" yet in need of attention and care. maybe scuffs, scraps, minor dents etc. I'm trying to think of any film scenes that would capture what I'd like to accomplish.

Something like you would expect after time on a battlefield.

The idea really appeals to me because its quite different than what most guys are doing and not so pristine.

If your doin ESB, I'd say do it as if it was after he fights luke, you know for a fact he strikes vader's shoulder lol
