So, the thing I'm writing has a race of lizard people. I need some horribly racist derogatory terms for 6 foot tall lizard men. Best I've got is scale face so far. Anyone want to take a stab? Doesn't need to be serious, but bonus points if you make me laugh OR give me something I can actually use.

(please dear god don't use this to open a can of worms, keep it related to fake fantasy lizard people and we can have some fun)

I would try something like District 9 did, find something that they kind of look like, especially if it's a small, worthless little pest. But something easy to remember.. maybe "gecko"? Something like that.

I think it's a bit too obscure of a reference. Many people would have no idea of what an anolis lizard is (even though it's a very common lizard that people see in the Southern U.S.), and thus not be able to see it as an insult. It could work as a specific cultural reference for people from that area, but not overall humanity, or even most people who have actually seen the anolis lizard.

If you want to really play with the ignorance that usually comes along with racism, you could have them called something that is totally inaccurate, but sounded clever to a drunk redneck at the time.

Something like calling them Fang Face when they have no fangs. I know that seems stupid, but it's the beat example I could think of...:rolleyes.

In a helpful way... are they carnivorous? If not, call 'em 'fruit-lickers' :confused
