Costume electronics

Today, I'm going to bring up some more meassurments, ye technical stuff, also called bored stuff for non-electronics.
And a few schematics to use the arduino as servo tester, to experiment with the degrees of moving.
Back to school!

I had a rough time deciding which of the costumes/armours I want to start first, but now, it would seem that I will be one of the many attempting to create an iron man suit :p
Anyway, could it be possible for you to give a rough estimate of the costs for the materials? =P
Thanks

That's hard to tell at this point. I'm going to try a very rough price.

The IronDuino will cost about:
The IC price is about 3 dollars.
The PCB price is in function of the size.
Connectors will come for about 4 dollars.
The othere electronic components on the IronDuino will come about 2-3 dollars.
The 4 switches would cost about .50 dollars.

Lets say it cost about 20 dollars, with much range in price.

The side components, bend sensors, servo, repulsor pcb... are a bit up to you. I'm going to provide a pcb for the repulsor. But I don't know when. Lets say all the electronics would cost about 100 dollars. You can make it as expensive as you want.

And a very very rough price for the costume it self would be like 100-200 euro if you use foam. Prices of a plastic casted costume, I don't know. And a fiberglassed costume costs about thousands of euro.

I wanted to know the price of the electronic components I have a very vague idea about the price of the rest of the costume thanks :D
And 100 dollars is around 75 euros if I'm not mistaken... And that's acceptable xD
Anyhow if I'll have any other electronic based question I'll direct it to you =P

Don't use the speech amplifier yet. I've a serious problems with it.

It's know on a hold for a few days. I'm continuing the IronDuino.

IronDuino program updated.

ummm...

Ye sorry, uploading again, I made a typo with my account name :D
GlenntTech.
Video is available within 20 min.
Sorry for the problem.

WarMachine Electronics

WarDuino

The WarDuino is a µC (micro controller) dedicated to Warmachine only. It will be released somewhere in may 2012. I started this now because the IronDuino is working.

Lets focus on the cool looking stuff for; lights, sounds, servo's... I'm not a mechanical engineer. Don't PM me to ask how to make the gun attachments or something similar.

If I say Warmachine you will immediately think about the Arc Reactor, the mini-gun, missile launchers, rifles attached to the forearm, repulsors, glowing Eyes, opening faceplate. These are the basic thing I will cover up atm.

I don't like bike lights to act as reactor or the 'static' light of a repulsor. There for we will make it dynamic.

Warmachine is mechanical more advanced then Iron Man. It contains more motors, more servo's,...

UNDER CONSTRUCTION

It has been awhile since this thread was updated. Now, everyone finished their costume then I've to come QUICK with the electronics :D.

I'm currently assembling a kit, very easy to solder, DIY, cheap!.

This kit will contain:
Arduino chip + external components for it;
2 Bend sensors;
Leds for under the boot, containing the leds, resistors, perfboard;
Switches for underneath the boots;
Leds for repulsor, containing the leds, resistors, perfboard;
Eye lights;
Small servo for helmet;

I can't tell you a price atm. I'm trying to make a basic kit, instructions to make, but my main goal is to make it easy upgradable. That's one of the reasons why I choose perfboard.

I'll keep you updated.

OK, I know NOTHING about how to add electronics to a costume...but I have a real desire to learn. I want to make articulated wings that can expand and retract from an ipod. Saw something similar at DC this past year. Is this so far advanced a novice has no chance in hell how to make it happen?
