Spoiler if your a numbers fan.....I just saw it in an episode of Numb3rs. Its in the episode where there is a Chinese interpreter who was really a spy and got herself killed. Turns out one of the cops old war buddy killed her. It was the killers car in the underground garage scene. Man I thought that car was the coolest thing in the world when I saw it on the big screen. Now not so much.

I always had fun watching that movie, but thought the car was hideous. I would think..."why would they mess up a corvette?" :lol Beauty is definitely in the eye of the beholder.

Wow, that IS hideous! It would look perfect in one of the old "Death Race" movies though. :lol

The car on the volo site is a replica. The movie car had an insanely intricate sparkle paint job and was right hand drive so you could talk to chicks on the sidewalk!!:lol But you get the picture of how gross it was. As a kid........man that was the coolest ever! It was funny to see it on TV after all these years.

I love and drive Corvettes. I love the movie too, but it is one of the most distasteful customs to exist! A real product of the times to be sure.

A Corvette is not a car to be customized in appearances very much, they are at their best stock. Anything else looks violently out of place.

About the only exterior mod I would replacing is the pop up headlights with fixed units on the 99-04(?) Vette. It upgrades the looks. I do think they could redo the interior of the new Vette....to much plastic. Its a car that will compete with 911 but is as boring as a minivan inside.

That car was horrible, only thing the sparkles are good for is if you flip it upside down and throw it into a lake it may attract some fish.

As for vettes. I used to work Callaway Corvettes. If your going to customize the body, I think there body kits added to it. Some kits go way to far with huge wings that are worthless, and just no thought into where body lines should go or how it will look. Like adding vents that serve no function.

I remember the first time I saw the movie I burst out laughing I thought it was so ugly :wacko

I did like the movie though but I wanted the firebird not the vette.

No kidding - I like the car. I'd love to show up to some real fancy shin dig in that thing and let everyone know - a BIG SHOT is here.

I still like it. The only problem I had with it then (and still do now) is that half the vents on the hood face forward. Make both sides of that hood scoop face backwards and tone down the paint and I still think it is a sweet car:love

I agree...stock vettes are best. They just don't lend themselves well to many adornments and they are awesome enough that they don't need any. I never dug the ground effect or wing kits that I have seen. It looks to overduone IMHO.

I remember watching that movie as a kid because "Luke Skywalker" was in it. I'm another one who as a kid, thought the car was awesome, now not so much.

I used to see one of the actual cars all the time around the LA area back in the day. Last time I recall seeing it for sale was back around the mid 90's in the Valley area.

Man that Car is awesome.
Awesome like Macrame Owls, Earth Shoes, Socks with Toes in 'em, Roller Disco, Doobie Brothers, Shag Carpet, the color "Avocado," "Love Is..." posters, Wings in my hair and 6.5 hours of Cartoons on every Network on Saturday Morning.
Laffo.

I remember the movie (Wonder if it's on DVD? That'd be great to get a copy! Then burn it! :lol). And it reminds me of some car shows I've been to. "Wow, that was a really cool car at one time. And someone has put serious money and a lot of time and talent into restoring it. And then making it a huge piece of crap." :rolleyes Yeah, beauty is pretty much in the eyes of the beholder.

I feel a Poll coming on......yea right. Funny how time distorts reality. I remember being scared watching the Green Slime. My only Hollywood car was a white Testarossa. After that Dullahm has to pony up the tumbler. I did meet a UK guy who said that alot of people over there really dig Corvettes and Vipers because they are foreign. Go figure.

Love Corvettes, own one, think that whoever bastardized the one in CS should be sent to Siberia for an "extended vacation"...:sick

well, in the context of the movie, anyway, it was a piece of crap Vette that was seconds away from being crushed as scrap, so it wasn't like the conversion was depriving the world of a shining example of Vettedom.

...of course, in the real world, they probably had to do exactly that to make one for the movie, granted. ;)
