:eek YOWZA! :eek

Are you sure and by that I mean have you visually verified it as I thought it was already in a private collection.

Since we are sizing each others Warp nodules I have been collecting TOS Trek Screen Used Pieces for 36 years and If you have seen some of the things I have seen you guys would crap in your pants! :lol

Now all bow down at apollo's throne before I start throwing lightning bolts up yer wazoos!! :p

As for the sword, CBS has the original, that has been said after the mistake of the replica out there.

Lol, I bow to your throne, all I can say for sure is that CBS has a sword, not the one in the picture that is a replica, I have been told it is a hero, but there were two stunt versions made as well, so until those assets get back to the archive I cant say for sure, I have held one of the stunts as it is in a private collection, but the other is still out there i believe, so it could go either way until I have it in hand.

Alec let you play with his? :lol

I thought there was 3 with Alec having one of the Stunts.

@Woof

Seriously? You have 5 posts to date and you have only attacked people. Why don't you actually contribute something to this hobby?

Seriously? You are trying to spin this? The number of posts made don't change the facts presented here. Alec Peters declared the sword as hero when it clearly was not. He has presented himself as someone who has experience in the subject of Star Trek authentication as he stated in his interview with Dan Benton:

"Outside of our Star Trek auctions, which really are because of my experience there, we only want to work with studios where we know the stuff is real and we can do something special".

He has also called out others for not doing their homework and not doing simple checks for authenticity, as he has done so himself in this case.

"Many blogs don’t even do enough background to ensure the information they provide is accurate -.....We need blogs to help make consumers smarter, which is what I have always tried to do with the Star Trek Prop, Costume, & Auction Blog".

Yet Alec, his workers, and friends seem to think when he does what he accuses others of and is questioned about it, he can just explain it away or attack anyone that points out the inconsistency or error.

I disagree.

If Alec and his company, Propworx, set standards and expect others to abide by them, then they should should too. If a mistake is made admit it, correct it, and move on.

The rpf members who posted here seemed to easily identify the sword as not hero from the photo. Just correct the blog post and make the consumer smarter.

Everybody here can agree on that, right?

James

So far Alec has not corrected his misidentification on his blog and that is important to note. Many readers of his blog are not rpf members and would have no idea the sword is not what Alec claimed.

Just fix it.

well there's also the Sword of Kahless from the episode TNG Rightful Heir... which was different from the one used on the DS9 episode.... and it actually looks like the regular bat'leth that Worf has

After two weeks and four new articles I see no correction to the Sword of Kahless information on the Star Trek blog. So much for providing accurate information and making the consumer smarter. :confused
To silverskyes402. As a representative of CBS/Paramount may I recommend refraining from using slang (i.e. WTF) and not imply other members are a "*******". Since you are employed by CBS, be professional when commenting on forums. I think CBS expects that of all the people that work for them.

lol Im a contractor, but yes, I agree with you though on the wording I chose, so i apologize on that front. i'm kinda a bias party on these topics, so I dont think I will post anymore, hope you understand where im coming from.

Correct. Alec has still not corrected his error about the sword. He gave a recent interview with some radio blog where he stated his StarTrek blog was the place to go for accurate information about StarTrek, :unsure. He also goes on to say that others are sloppy in their research and need to know what they are talking about before saying something, :unsure,:unsure.

While silverskyes admits his error about his language (and I applaud him for that), Alec's language however, remains questionable.

In a recent blog post Alec says the following about an eBay seller and known StarTrek collector (as well as a potential CBS, StarTrek fan and auction customer)-- "The seller is known to the Star Trek collecting community and a bit of a pain in the ass though not a crook."

Not too professional there. I wonder if Alec's professionalism is why he lost the Marvel contract he is always mentioning.

Well, I'd say that one he's holding is just your regular stock sword. With due respect to spoiler sensitivities - SPOILER ALERT - the way Kahless came to the TNG time, there's no way he could have brought his original sword with him.

Not a reflection on the prop blog or Alec Peters, but merely some more information as to the authenticity of the Sword of Kahless: In the "24th Century Weapons" special features from the Generations DVD they mention that the Sword of Kahless displayed at STTE is a replica made by Gil, this is mentioned in the context of the original sword having non-Klingon writing on it so the replica replaced the text with Klingon. So it's not even an exact replica nor made for production. I would still consider it a cool piece none-the-less due to it's status at STTE, but definitely not worth nearly as much as the original SoK

I left a comment on the blog post.

Here are caps of the creator making the replica.

The sword of Kahless in that episode was at a Klingon temple.

He didn't bring it, it was there waiting for him, right under his portrait

Enough with the personal comments/attacks. Stick to the specifics of the sword(s) in question, and leave the personal issues out of it.
