Converting an FX saber

Does anyone know how I would make an FX saber to be able to have a "removable" blade? What about changing the color? Thanks

the blade does have a connector on the back. 5 pin i believe.
i added the blade and electronics from a Vader FX to a custom hilt and the blade is removable , held in place by a thumbscrew.

I know of a tutorial for the Vader ESB but I am unaware of other tutorials for other sabers.
