Constantine holy water ampoules…

Hey guys. So there was a previous thread from 12 years ago about making Constantines holy water ampoules and the RPF won’t allow me to post since the thread is so old. I’ve decided to try to make them and I am more curious about finding the accurate black, ridged caps that go on the bottles. Has anyone ever found the accurate tops that were used in the movie version? Also in previous conversations you guys mentioned using distilled water with either glycerin or a little mineral oil in the bottles. Sounds like a good idea. Another thing I was wondering about is the white crosses on the bottles. To look at it, to me it looks like that white out ribbon that you can put on paper. What does everybody think?

No one has responded here but I will ask again- has anyone sourced the accurate black caps for the holy water ampoules?

The ones I have look like this and they are Christmas ornaments.

Well they aren’t as small as fingernail bottles in the movies. The ones I have, you can see their size above compared to my hand.

This was an image that was lost from this thread: Constantine 'Holy Water Ampoule' ideas needed... I don't know its origins

They look like 1/4" amp knobs without the indicator line. You might search for "vintage fluted knob plastic"

I bought one of these off Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MTF6ZVC

It came with two plastic threaded nuts/caps that looked like this. They're just injection molded plastic.

The white cross looks like fabric. It's edges aren't straight like cut paper would be.

Yeah- I think you’re right on the plastic fluted knob like you’d find in a bass guitar. The couple of places I’ve looked this morning has these for $9 each. I’d like to verify the size before I invest too much as I plan to make like 6 of these holy water ampoules.

I think this is what was used to draw the white crosses.

That whiteout tape is opaque and straight edged IIRC. It looks more like a translucent film or thick, masked paint that was pulled while the paint was wet but I have to stare at the pixels to convince myself. There's supposed to be a 4K version of Constantine out this year that might make it clearer.

Frosted glass spray paint looks right but I'd try Armour Etch instead for giggles.

I’m sure at one point somebody had the right measurements, but does anyone know the specific measurements of the glass Christmas ornaments that they used for the ball?

It also looks like it could be finely cut medical tape.

Could be medical tape but that'd be a pain to get straight. Vinyl cutter for speed and accuracy - either as a mask or applied film.

On size, I'd guess 1.5 - 2 inches. If you look at the scene in Constantine's apartment, the camera pulls back when he's testing the dragon's breath. They're small - not a full size ornament. Also, the scene in Hell where he smashes the ampoule, you can see the lid briefly next to his hand.

Before I add another project to my list, that's a Don Carter bowling bag in the last image. It'd be fun to put together a Beeman bag of tricks including the cow toy, the screech beetle matchbox, etc from the scene.

I actually own the beetle box. There’s a person on eBay who sells it along with other props.
