CONSTANTINE (HELLBLAZER) Props

Sorry to resurrect such an old thread, but I figured since there was a perfectly good existing thread, why create a new one?

I just got finished perusing the 2nd Disc in the Deluxe Edition of 'Constantine' (released today in the US). There are some EXCELLENT shots of the various props & weapons, even down to explanations of exactly how some of them were made.

Unfortunately, I didn't have time do make any screencaps.

any info on the dragons breath? just wondering if i was right in my guess that the tip was a hole saw bit?

Cool. I will have to pick up the deluxe DVD this weekend. I really enjoyed the film, and the props were very cool. I saw Keanu on MTV back went it came out, and if I remember correctly they asked him what he kept, or what he'd like to have, and he said the holy shotgun was one of his favorite props.

Keanu had the 'Holy Shotgun' deactivated (as it was a firing weapon), & he gave it to the director as a gift.

I use to work at the Hand Prop Room many years ago. It's run now by a guy name Lonni. Good craftsman. Don't know if he made it though. You can call him and ask him if he has pictures.

The featurette "Holy Relics" is excellent for reference for the props. I am currently looking into the possibillity of making the brass knuckles out of brass.

I also bought the licensed holy shotgun, which i scored for 71 pounds (115 bucks). I will write a review of it shortly. Although it is not the what a licensed replica could/should be, i think for the price i paid it is nice. Maybe i will be able to have one done in brass in the future.

One prop that anybody can do is the holy water vials, they used clear christmas ornaments for those.

Yes it is. When I saw the movie, I thought it was just a rusted looking zippo. But seeing all the details in the pics, I wonder how I missed all that?

Hmm, as nice as the brass knuckles are, they could have done a bit more research :\ I mean "Holy spiritus", mixing English and Latin, tsss. Either "Holy Spirit" or "Spiritus Sanctus"... I hope the production designer had a fit over this :lol

Is it just me, or does the "gold" overlay on the spear look suspiciously like fiberglass cloth. I know this stuff isn't made for close inspection but come on, have some pride in your work.

Had the same thought, could be a stunt.

Think i deciphered all the engravings on the knuckles, hope to hear from my friend the expert vectortracer soon

the wording around the finger holes reads "fiat et piriat mundus piriat et stitia". The outer ring is mirrored.
