CONSTANTINE (HELLBLAZER) Props

screen8.jpg

so thinking about this flashlight, since i was looking for something to match it, with no luck and then it hit me, well maybe the front part was built up, as i hadnt found anything with the same shape, i thought of this while working over a sink at work, and saw the sink plug, with the lines around it just like that,
anyone think they maybe used one of those and attached it to the flashlight and maybe extended it at the front? anyone got a better side view of the flashlight??
cant find a pic of the drain im talking about, anyone know what im talking bout??

anyone still interested in all this at all besides me?

Yeah...I know the drain you are talking about...it does look similar...

I'm trying to source the same shape bottles used for the holy water...along with a couple of the other smaller items...

if you rent the god awful game, theres a semi desent pic of the brass knuckles in your inventory. Theres more but I havent gotten that far yet..

Finally saw movie. Liked it - but then I didn't really ready Hellblazer - just Books of Magic.

The screech bug matchbox. I ran into someone yesterday (on the way to the film) who does promotions for theatres - he had a matchbox like it - with a sound chip in it. Is it a promo? Ebay has proved not helpful in this case.

But your replica looks good mez.

Looking at the flashlight. It kinda looks like one of those grabbers they use to change out lightbulbs. It's stuck on the end of a long pole to allow you to get to bulbs high up.

The screech beetle matchbox was a promo item for the movie. I've seen dozens of auctions on eBay for it. Careful tho...the final prices range anywhere from $5-$40. I have one on the way I snagged for $10.

Still trying to find the right shape for the holy water bottles. I've come close a couple of times, but the bottles I found have too much neck between the cap and the bottle.

Aaron, from the looks of it, the tube / body may have been made from an old microscope. They had similar-looking bodies made of brass (IIRC).

True that.

I just heard that they used an old microscope on the gun, and assumed it would be the flashlight for some reason.

i dont think the microscope would be for the flashlight... the body, its just too thick, ive looked at tons of old microscopes since hearing this news too, and thier all thiner...the ones ive found at least, dont know where the microscope is, so wont say for sure buy my reasoning is that its just too much work, why do that when they could buy a flashlight and just do some little tweaks, wereas if they did it with a microscope having to do all the internals, taknig out the microscope parts and adding the light parts, just seems alot of work for what it is.

look like just normal sized zippos to me,

constantines was like about double that sized?/? or so...

If you check ebay there are Constantine lighters on there. I have no idea how accurate they are though.

Those aren't the same as Constantine's...his was wider than a regular Zippo and also had a circular emblem/device on one side. The second time I saw the flick, I specifically concentrated on the lighter close up shots....I do believe it was a Zippo lighter of some sort tho...the wheel and flame/wick cage are the same as a Zippo...

Yea, I figured it wasn't the right one. From what I remembered it didn't look quite right to me. I saw it twice but both times I never paid a lot of attention to the lighter.

Well, I contacted Zippo about the Constantine lighter and the response I received was that it was not manufactured by Zippo. They do not recognize it as a model they produce or have produced in the past.

Needless to say, it very well could be a zippo customized by the prop company that worked on the film and/or just the guts from a zippo with a totally custom outer shell...

At least we know that those being sold on eBay are definitely NOT the correct lighter....

It looks like there's a lot of tiny inscriptions along the finger holes. Snazzy........And probably really hard to do...
