Personally, I want a CNC'd Brass Knuckle out of Solid Brass.

That could be cost prohibitive though.

I'm starting an interest thread in the JY HERE and we'll see what most people want.

How much cleanup is there on the AMT process as opposed to casting in Brass?

I dont think anyone is expecting to go out and crack any demon skulls with these bad boys, so as long as they can withstand handeling and probably the occasional "Oh crap I dropped it." i think we will be fine.

OK, here's my dilema. I cut out the graphic I made, and it seemed real small on my hand. I know some of you also have bigger hands.

I compared the design to a few real Brass Knuckle designs and noticed the finger holes were real small (1"), and the palm piece wasn't really long enough.

I redesigned it to a better design that would accomodate slightly larger hands. The red outline shows the changes to the original on the top.

I think the bottom one looks better. What is everyones opinion on this? It's idealized from the start, and I think if we invest a lot of time and money, it should be the best design possible. I would hate not to be able to wear them.

Any opinions would be welcome.

I see what you are saying, but now it seems that the words tun into one another and the overall look of the piece seems a bit stretched out verticly.

Couldn't you just "up-size" the original picture? That way the whole piece would be slightly bigger & the words would still be positioned/spaced correctly.

That way there's no stretching, just sizes:

s, m, l, xl, xxl and xxl for the gorillas amongst us.

Some people have larger hands and the replica may be a bit small. Others have smaller hands and the replica may be a bit large. Unless you're planning on making several sizes, I'd stick with the screen-used size, if known.

I initially stretched the floral patter and the type wasn't redone for the larger size. I should have just posted the outlines.

I'm working on fixing everything. I'll repost it as soon as I'm done. The problem with just enlarging it is that to get the finger holes the size they should be, the entire width is about 5.5" Way to big. It shouldn't go past 5".

If we go with the exact one D48thRonin has, then the text will have to be all messed up, and the pinky side of the knuckles is to thin and the palm piece is odd.

I have the outline that he sent me and that's what I based this one on.

If you want it to be exact, I think getting a screen used cast is the best option.

We are already idealizing the text, so why not fix any other flaw that it has. Why make a Brass Knuckle that can't be used? It's like having a resin Batarang.

I made the fonts larger in the last one I posted and there isn't any overlap of the text.

I just got back in town from a Knife Throw in Atlanta.

I'm in the process of getting the files converted into the correct program. Once that's done, there will be a prototype made out of metal.

I'll post any progress as soon as it happens.
