Conky 2000

Ok, guys. Let's identify some parts here. I've been working on replicating Conky 2000 from "Pee-wee's Playhouse," but I'm still having trouble identifying some parts.

I found an old thread here on the RPF from three years ago. So far, the list of identified parts, including what was identified three years ago and what I've been able to identify on my own, includes:

Eyes - Kodak Brownie Hawkeye cameras

Chest - Sanyo boombox (screen accurate model not yet identified)

Chest camera - Agfa Isolette camera (this one's not exact, but close)

But, I'm still having trouble identifying his stomach/turntable, as well as his head. I've looked at vintage cash registers, vintage adding machines, vintage toasters, vintage toaster ovens, vintage juke boxes, vintage metal bread boxes, vintage vacuum cleaners... and I'm out of ideas. Let's finish identifying these parts.

PLEASE help me with this, fellas. I want to see some full-sized Conkies running around here in the near future.

MOD EDIT: Links removed because the domain is no longer valid.

I've wanted to do one of these for a while as well. If the head's not an old wall-mounted Jukebox or radio then my next guess would be some type of breadbox.

There's a rotary phone dial and knife switch on his right side:

I've tried building interest in the past here and I never seem to get very far. :confused
Hopefully this may change that.

this is a great project. I hope you get it together. I have wanted this one and of course the Mystery Science theater guys too

I'm getting a 'Suspected Malware Site' warning on those links.

Same. Here's Google's diagnostic page for the site: http://google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?site=paul-reubens.net/

While I doubt that a celeb's page is intentionally spreading malware, it's pretty easy to inject harmful code in things like comment pages. For now, I would recommend people staying away until the admin there gets it fixed. You can use the Google link I posted to check as they will periodically update their results.

The top of his head is a vacuum cleaner...Look at old Hoover convertables or old eureka. It is just the cover that goes over the motors.

Sorry about the links, guys. I just recycled them from the old thread.

I've been looking at vintage vacuum cleaners for a while now for this project, and I'm just not sure that's it. There's something about the head's side profile that just screams cash register to me, but no dice. I've noticed that on Conky's right jaw there's a silver lever, like you would find on an adding machine, but then again it could just be an added greeblie. Conky's nose looks like an old oven knob, and the metal grating where his mouth is positioned looks kind of like a cheese grater.

Lots of things to look up tonight!

I'm starting to agree with the vacume foot theory. If you look at a profile shot of the head you can see there's a slot where it slides in to the bottom part of the head.

Yes, I believe you are correct. I was looking at older, metal vacuum cleaners. But after looking at the Hoover Convertible and a few others, I do believe you are right, SHIMKO.

Now I just have to find the right one!

Thanks for that link, Jack!

Well, I sent Greg an email asking him for any information he could give us. I'll let everyone know if he responds and with what information.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I contacted Greg and he got back to me the very next day. Other than being a little perplexed that someone actually wanted a full-sized Conky, he said that he would be glad to share the Conky schematics. When he actually sends me some information I'll be sure to post it.
