Concept Vader Sculpt

This is a project that Iv'e had on the shelf for a very long time and just in the past few days started to play with it again.
It's a Concept Vader mask from a Ralph McQuarrie sketch that was done early in preproduction for EP4 . It sure has a long way to go I just wanted to get some feed back from everyone and possibly some ideas to help further the design.
It's interesting that as the sculpt goes on small elements from other Star Wars helmets come out.
Let me know what you think.

Very cool! Different than the later McQ Concept Vader sketches I've seen, and different than any of the other McQ Concept Vader helmets that have appeared on this board. It's interesting to see some elements reminiscent of the Stormtrooper bucket in this piece.

Great choice of subject! Looking forward to your progress. :thumbsup

Very very cool - and looking great so far. Just when you think you've seen everything on VADER then BANG - A talented artist here brings us something new... uh, that's old....uh... you know what I mean.

Very cool project. Look pretty good so far!!
I love seeing SW concept art. Interesting would be the solution how you can get the mask on and off your head...

Never seen it before and not a big fan. Looks kinda similar to General Grevious.

It´s more Flash Gordon than Star Wars, but I kinda like the idea, with the billowing cape and the "man-blouse" ;)

I really like the start, yet it looks to be a bit on the "weighty" side, I´d interpret the concept more like originally described, namely a breathing mask for jumping from ship to ship. The area behind the ears going around the back of the head could be elastic band, since it´s a face mask, and the tubes at the bottom of the mask look very stormtrooper-y. I am really curious where you are taking that ! (y)thumbsup:thumbsup
