Completed Sunstar DeLorean custom

Hey guys, just thought I'd post my latest model up.

This is the 1/18th scale Back to the Future: The Ride DeLorean, it's based off of whats known in fandom as the "Oxnard" car...which is the DeLorean that did the "wheelie" stunt and some driving on the rail tracks in Part III just before the "B" Car was destroyed by the train.

After filming, Jay Ohrberg modified it and decked it out with a new style Mr. Fusion unit to be used when the DeLorean crashes into the Institute of Future Technology in the ride.

After receiving the base model, I took it apart and modified almost everything to some extent to be more screen accurate, along with repainting all of the components. I also scratchbuilt many parts, including the Flux Box plates, Flux Capacitor details, P3 Style Wormhole emitter and support, and added a third Red can as all of the early release models lacked it. I don't claim to be a master builder at all, but I think this one came out pretty decent. :)

Nice work! Now get to detailing those rail wheels! ;)

Ha! One day...If I ever did customise that one, I'd have to make some castings of the front wheel, since it's smaller to make it all look right. Not something for the faint hearted, like myself. lol

Thanks for your comment. :)

I have that Sunstar one, and I found 'Mr. Fusion' to be a might high, and missing some detail. Do you plan to fix it?

Honestly, no. It IS a tad bit high, but because of the rarity factor I don't really want to mess with it..

Maybe I could make a casting to modify...hmm

Very nice. I like the added dashboard detail. I feel that the sunstars one failing is the poorly detailed interior. I like the details you added to the interior, definitely improves the overall look.

Now, are you planning on detailing the 1/15 light-up delorean time machine next?

Thank you very much! :)

I am indeed working on a 1/15th scale Time Machine, It's a tough one because basically it's a scaled-up version of the Sunstar, which makes every detail really clumpy and not very crisp...
