Hey Eirinn of ShinyThingsProps here,
I wanted to share the replica i made of Ubisoft's Far Cry 3 "Ancient Chinese" Dagger.
First, complete pics

Dagger is cold cast with Smooth Cast Onyx and aluminium powder in a Mold Max 40 mould.
And then some progress pics. I don't have many, but they should be enough for anyone who want to replicate the project! If not then ask
The master is made of an MDF cutout with pieces of MDF sandwiched around it. Details were made with Apoxy Sculpt, marked with a felt pen
and filed down afterwards. Detail cutting was made with a chisel, triangular+round file and a drill bit for the holes.
WARNING BEGINNERS: MDF is a layered material which means it's prone to splitting. When using a chisel do not, I repeat, do not have your hand
on the other side of where you're chiselling. There's a risk of the chisel splitting the MDF, going right through and cut directly through your thumb
making you dizzy because you don't handle blood and a large open wound well, faint over the living room table wrecking it spraying blood everywhere
and have to call your grandparents for a ride to the hospital because you're the only one home. I mean... theoretically... none of this really happened...
uh... I'm a grown mad... OK you got me, I have a large circular scar and part of my thumb is numb. Don't be stupid, not all stupidities fade with time.
