Also, it's heartbreaking that it's not until the very end that we finally see Rex break down. This man lived through dozens of battles. He saw countless friends and brothers under his command die. He's given them orders that have sent them their death, knowing full well that it was his duty to the Republic to do so. But being left with no alternative but to accept that the institution that gave him reason to live has crumbled before his very eyes, and there is nothing that he can do about it... that is what breaks his resolve.

I've occasionally caught an episode here and there, nothing ever really captured my attention. But, I've been keeping up with this thread for awhile now and reading all the comments for this season, so I decided I would give it a chance since you guys were all talking about it tying into E3.

First 8 episodes seemed like standard TCW stuff to me--ho hum....Didn't care for the Bad Batch, Wrecker was so cringe worthingly overblown. I liked the sisters stuff better, but the way they tricked their way into getting that replacement shipment of spice was ridiculous. Who would put someone that stupid in charge of something so valuable? But, I knew I had to get to the last 4 episodes so I sat through it all.

However, I will have to say, once it got to the ninth episode it kicked in, and really kicked in hard!! I thoroughly enjoyed those last four!! Very well done and a good ending to the series. Like I said, I was never really interested in the show, but I gotta give props where props is due... Good job!!

I'm not into the prequel era at all. Saw The Clone Wars "movie" when it released, but never watched anything else. Not long ago, a friend showed me what I believe were the last episodes aired on CN (the ones with Yoda), and I dug the tone. Still, never brought myself to commiting to watching. When the trailer for this last season was released, it grabbed me. I felt that I have enough "SWIQ" to be able to jump in and follow along, even if there were details I wasn't completely getting due to lack of context or background. All that said, I think these last 4 episodes were some of the best SW content I've ever seen. The subtlety of the moment that Rex was wrestling with what he was about to do in carrying out Order 66 and this moment when Ahsoka removed his helmet hit me in a way I didn't expect, given the fact I had no reason to really feel anything for any of them. Same thing with those droids getting gunned down. In just those 4 episodes, they managed to get me to care. I even like that they brought Darth Maul back, and the execution (no pun intended) of it. I still don't know that I'll go back and watch the whole series but that was some MIGHTY FINE SW. (y)

Upon realizing that this is not the mando thread, that mando stuff should probably not go here. folks can choose to avoide the mando thread if they want to try and avoid spoilers. we probably shouldn't be posting casting info for the show in a clone wars thread.

I think it's pretty safe to say none of us did. I believe that's the point. The surprise made it all the better. I was never even into TCW, but I was aware of who Ahsoka was. When she showed up in Rebels as an adult I was pretty pumped about it. I wasn't expecting that, nor do I think it was blasted out there as a major announcement.

No that’s what I’m trying to say, they kept things secret in the first season, why release all this info for the second

But in another thread someone brought up releasing this info of characters probably will bring in more followers of the clone wars or even boba fett fans

Like you said. Most likely this type of information it to increase discussion about the show to keep public interest high. There are proabably lot of good secrets we don't know about. After all, the child does have a name from the very start that we have yet to learn about.
 
I deliberately waited on watching the final season until all eps were available so I could binge. Just finished today.

As others have said, the first eight eps were standard CW stuff. Not bad by any means, but I really thought this entire season was going to be like the last four (awesome) episodes. I expected the "Night of a Thousand Tears" to be part of this season, but I guess we will have to wait on that story until "The Mandalorian" covers it.

Question, though: When Ahsoka despondently dropped the one lightsaber at the end, I originally thought that was symbolic of her leaving her "soldier" past behind - i.e., the lightsabers she used to fight a war that never should have been fought, especially by the Jedi. But she never dropped the second one; she kept it.

So did she drop it for the reason I described above, or did she drop just the one with the specific intention of faking her own death (i.e., it'd be extremely unlikely for her to die in a crash like that and both sabers land next to each other yet nowhere near her body or clothing/equipment)?

I know her death is what Vader was supposed to believe when finding the saber (though I suspect he really didn't believe it but just kept his mouth shut so the Empire stopped hunting her). But was that her intention? Wondering if Filoni spoke to this issue directly.

I would have to back and watch it to be sure but I thought she dropped the other one during the final battle.

UPDATE: She did have both when she got into the Y-Wing
