CLONE WARS weekly discussion thread

Refresh my memory guys... Maul knows of sidous’s plan how?!

I don’t recall it being said in clone wars and I can’t remember if they said it in son of darthomir
I mean, I thought he knew about it from the beginning, based on him knowing in TPM that the political machinations that Sidious was laying out would result on "revenge" on the Jedi.

I'm speechless. These past 2 episodes have to be some of the best Star Wars content we've ever been blessed with. The animation is STUNNING and the suffocating feeling of the events that are about to unfold that looms overhead...The ending of this episode was chilling - waiting for next week is going to be so hard!

The fight scene between Maul and Ahsoka blew me away. I love how Maul is actually kind of a good guy here and the only one with the forsight to see what is truly happening. It really shows the Jedi's arrogance, refusing to believe the Sith even when they are telling the truth. My heart broke for him when he was captured and he screamed about how they're all going to die. He's probably terrified to be in the hands of the clones, given he knows what's about to happen. Surely he isn't spared from Order 66...

Who else noticed a particular crime syndicate leader from Solo?? Also, the Night of a Thousand Tears apparently takes place during the Siege of Mandalore, where Republic gunships killed Mandalorian recruits. At this point, young Din Djarin is likely on Mandalore after being taken in by Death Watch...

I know this is going to sound dumb, but I think you'll get what I mean...

Knowing that the Jedi were basically superhuman, I've always enjoyed the speed & smoothness of the lightsaber combat in TCW...

BUT...

after watching the Maul/Ahsoka duel several more times this afternoon, knowing that Ray Park did MoCap for that, it made the past stuff look almost...'cartoony'.

That's not to take away from the past, but more to realize just how GOOD Ray Park is, & seeing how much tiny mannerisms just SCREAM Darth Maul.

I'm blown away.

I imagine you’re right, but I find it hard palps would trust all this info in a young dark side kid

How about that hologram EU cameo?

Maul knows because hewas the apprentice at the start. It's not something that was verbally conveyed in the movies but it should go without saying that he was involved in carrying out his plans. Maul admitted he did not know all the details but he most likely from the sound of it, he knew about the clones and how they would be be utilized at the right time and how the purpose was to end the jedi and the republic and start an Empire.

That’s true!! Forgot he mentioned he knew about the clones being part of it!

I know it would never happen but I would love for David Filoni to do a shot-for-shot remake of Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith but animated. I really think using his cast could really sell both the Anakin/Padme relationship and Anakin's fall to the dark side.

I really enjoyed the prequels. They are very deep and thought provoking and the series helped flush out a lot of the nuances of turning a Democraty into an empire. And I love George Lucas and his ideas. I even like Jar Jar and midichlorians. No issues there. My only real problem is that I feel he can't bring out the best in his actors.

What’s everyone thoughts on the inhibitor chips?

Do you think rex and friends already removed them? I don’t see a scar on rexs head or any other clones

No. they would have addressed that if they had. Even though I know Ahsoka will survive, I am very nervous about order Order 66 being so close.

As you brought up things that wouldn't happen, I was reading some discussion this morning on another site, & someone mentioned Anakin slaughtering the Younglings. It was asked then how would people feel if it was revealed that Anakin actually saved that group instead.

Made some of the TLJ thread look like A HELLO KITTY love fest.

I think the key is "ALL" Probably every single detail was heavily compartmentalized.

I've heard in the past that Sidious considered Maul more of a tool than an equal, but he probably stoked the fire of his rage with a few vague details on what he was planning.

Ha, this season (but particularly this arc so far) has made me start to feel this way about the whole show. The animation in general is sooo much better than before in ever way. The character models and textures, the facial expressions, the bokeh and depth of field...I want to rewatch the whole series but at the same time don't because I'll just be left yearning for this quality!

Ugh, I hope we see those other unfinished episodes and arcs finished up someday...

Just saw this weeks episode. And high and on whiskey.

I am so incredibly loving this! Last week was great, but the build up is just so intense. Knowing this story is colliding into the end of ROTS is so awesome.

There shouldn't be such tension .mostly knowing the fate of many characters, but there is! They're doing great job here.

This is Star Wars and I'm loving it.
