CLONE WARS weekly discussion thread

I wonder how many years it was before vader discovered the saber and buried clones

Good question... how long would it have taken to replace the clones with stormtroopers? Were some of them clones in new armor?

And did anyone else get a Halo: Reach vibe from the last shot of the clone trooper helmet? :p

Actually, not true. Syfodias and those Jedi directly involved with the cloning project later were the only ones who really knew about it. Order 66 was out there in the open the whole time (GENERAL ORDER 66, as in general guidance/knowledge), but of course the Jedi would NEVER betray the Republic, so it was considered a non-issue.

When Fives' chip malfunctioned, that's when it became somewhat wider known, but it was still clamped down on pretty hard (which is why Rex's protest of Fives' records was secured as it was).

Okay, so my point still stands that there would've been no real need to "boobytrap" the chips, because, as far as anyone knew, there was no reason to remove them.

I may be mixing up the old EU and new canon, but wasn't it heavily suggested at some point, that if the chip was removed, it would cause the Clones to go crazy in some way. In order to stop anyone from even trying to remove them?

I definitely don't recall that... but it's always possible that I missed something you read.

It's most likely that i've mis-remembered something, as now I think about it more, I can't pinpoint where I'd have read/heard it.

It's such a common plot point when "brain chips" come up in a story, that most of us just assume it's part of it.

When they were about to operate on Rex, I even thought to myself "here comes the part, where they say it's gonna be really tricky, that it's wired directly into the hooza-whatzit node of the brain to prevent tampering, and the force will have to guide her hand as she guided the medical machine in - oh, he shot those guys? Is that a bandaid on his head? I guess it's out..." LOL

IIRC, this was the plausible deniability explanation that the Kaminoans gave to Shaak Ti when she asked why they couldn't simply remove the chips from the Clones in the Death of Fives arc. Basically, it was that the chips inhibited the Clones... impulses that they inherited from Jango Fett, and removing them could potentially lead to the clones going nuts.

Ah awesome. Thank you

After finishing the TCW my wife and I are watching the prequels again. We started last night with TPM. First thing she said was she has a greater appreciation for the prequels and a deeper loating of the Disney sequels.. and she worked for for years Disney.. I chuckled.. I've been saying for years that the story is really good if you can overlook the stilted acting and at times cringe dialog..

Oh. Dude. From people I've known over the years, the best, fastest, and surest way to come to loathe Disney is to work for them.

100% agree.. my buddy has been there since he was out of high school..

He said when Lucas owned it you were tight little family..

Disney came in, broke everything up, cut 401k’s

Forget getting over time.. there wasn’t a family anyone, it was strictly business..

He hates them

So does Rex have a mutation that gives him blonde hair or does he constantly dye his stubble?

Honest I bet he dyes it, we see many clones with different hair cut styles I think to try and stick out

I was wondering the same thing though..

When did Maul get those extra two horns in front of his ears? Did he always have those?

Nevermind. After Googling it I see he did, they just weren't very pronounced like they are in TCW.
