Rented this flick last night and I enjoyed it a lot. There was a thread about the remote a while back but it seems to have fallen off. What's the story on it? Found item, custom made? Anyone doing replicas?

www.screenused.com apparently has the actual remote available for sale ($2,199). Also has some info about it as well as photos:
"This is the stunt Universal Remote Control that was used on screen by Adam Sandler as "Michael Newman". It is made of foam and detailed with fake buttons. The Universal Remote Control is the icon prop from the film, and can be seen throughout the film from the time Michael receives it as a gift from Morty at Bed, Bath and Beyond to the very end of the film. This would be a true conversation piece displayed on your coffee table in it's custom display case. The display case measures 14" wide x 11" deep x 9" tall."

Definately looks scratch built, almost looks like a shoehorn.

I really enjoyed this movie too, its something I'd love to have sitting on my desk at work.

I saw a remote of click which was auctioned off on ebay a month or two ago by a film company. it went for 400 or 500 range I guess, when my memory doesn't fail me.

Yeah. Like for when the boss comes in and tells you that you're either fired or the lazy guy in the corner cubicle gets the raise while you toil and get nothing you can just pause him, beat him senseless, and then sit down and unpause him, looking like nothing happened while he wonders about his sudden headache, just like the movie :lol .
But anyway... I too would like a good replica of this if it was made for the film, and if it was a found item I'd love to help in the I.D. thread that follows.

I just scored 2 'made for production' halves of the remote (top and bottom). It is a prototype, but has the exact same shape as the final prop. It will need to be altered a bit as far as the holes on top are concerned, but i should be able to use these to make an accurate replica
