Hey all,

I got a blaster tip thats cast in clear resin and the out side of it looks like it's frosted. What and or how do I polish it up to look like glass, if you look from the end you can see it's not hazey at all it looks like glass.
Any help on this would really be great I'm at the point of finishing this blaster and this is whats holding me up.

Thanks to all that reply

use a very high grid sandpaper to maker the surface really smooth. Then give the piece a thin clearcoat. I sometimes do this on the clear pieces of the minority report inhalers. I use my airbrush and thinned down automaotive clearcoat to apply a thin layer after the sanding, works like a charm.

good luck

Marc

sand it with very fine wet and dry paper till its smooth and then give it a good buff and that should do it.

Polish it up, as folks have said. If it doesn't work, you could recast it in some water clear resin for a start and then try polishing. There is some by Silpak that's very clear and no doubt other manufacturers as well.

Please post pics too.

Will do Vaderman. Thanks for the info I hope it works out with out recasting but as you said I'll atleast have it to recast if I screw it up.

I believe there is also a sanding paste that you can use for an even better finish than 2000 grit sandpaper. But definitely use future after you sand it.
