hi guys,
I need a bit of help.
i wanted a DJ costume and mask for a cruise in september, long story short cant get one, so decided to make my own.

ive started sculpting the head, in preparation to make a latex or silicone mask, and you can see the progress here :

But I will also need a costume.
Does any one have or know where I can get a pattern for the hat or any other part of the costume?

im not tailorly gifted, so any help with material types etc, would also be appreciated.

im kinda making this up as i go along.

if all goes well i may even post some patterns etc on here

Costume is nearly finished for the cruise.

Ok then here it is (in parts)

It's just needing a couple of tweaks ,but.......

I made the walking stick with an attached "finger" just for effect.

Comments welcome, but remember this is my first attempt at any costume making from scratch.

Thanks for the good comments, they mean a lot.
I've made a wee bit "darker" just to make it a bit more adulty.
But hoping to get a couple of pics around the ship.
I reckon I won't be able to keep it on for long periods though as its face fitted for me.

What's the plan on the crustacean peg leg... will your foot just be behind it?

Yes,
I've cut up a pair of old black jogging bottoms(sweat pants) and these hide it pretty well.
It's attached with straps and Velcro .

Just commented on your other thread and will do on this one too. Very underrated thread. Great job so far, Claymore! Can't wait to see this fully built/painted etc. Really would like to see a Cthulhu mask make just like this!

BTW I haven't lost a leg, it's designed to tuck out of the way for photo ops.

these were taken at the Magic Kingdom in Florida, during the first night of "Mickey's not so scary Halloween Party 2013"
the costume was made from scratch and was my first ever creation . The only think " bought" was the coat which was then altered to character, with rubber shells and seaweed etc.
