Please excuse me if this has been covered before, I tried looking at some posts and could not find what I was looking for.
I was at my local Toys R Us and saw for the first time up close the 'Classic Trilogy' Ti-fighter toy and was impressed by it, but also hoping to find out if this toy could in some ways be converted into more of a studio model replica? I didn't buy it yet, I figured I would check with you guys first for your pro opinion. LMK, thanks everyone!

It's WAY off but if I were to make one change, it would be to make the solar panels larger to more closely match the scale of the cockpit. If you did that you'd also have to lengthen the supports that attach them to the body, as the solar panels on the real thing are as almost as far apart from each other as they are tall.

Will anyone attempt this, or is it a lost cause? Does anyone offer parts to put together a custom kit?

The new OTC TIE fighter toy nolonger has the rear battery box and is more like the real deal.

Well crap! What are you supposed to grab onto when you're flying the TIE around the house now, if there's no box to hold it by?

Why, you grab it firmly by the BALL of course!

And the "Japanese kit" is the Finemolds model, very fine indeed.

I wonder if big sheet-styrene wings are feasible... they'd be GIGANTIC, but hey...

How big is the model when completed? Also (off topic) what's the size of the MPC AT AT model kit? How accurate is that?

The TIE is around the size of the AMT TIE and that is about 6" tall.

The AT-AT is around 7"-8" tall.
