I guess I can't post the link but do a search....there's an auction with a 10K start price claiming that the model could be a TIE from production. Looks like a $10K Icons TIE to me but what say the experts?

hi KevVader , i think you can put the link , i am browsing the ebay and didn't find that tie

greetings from Portugal

The links the seller posted are great - pics of a TIE on a cutting mat, in someone's workshop/hobby room. Very ILM... also, wrong color.

The center hub looks like the ICONS, but that is not even Kookshade.......not sure what that is.

This guy is still trying to sell this TIE? It is an Icons, that has been repainted or it is a cast of an Icons TIE. There is a reason the details on this TIE don't match the details on known screen used TIEs.

A 10k starting bid on an item, and the seller "who specializes in the sale of high end items" can't even compose a semi-professional looking ebay listing? Sign me up.

I own an original Icons TIE. So, yes, it's definitely made from an Icons TIE or a re-cast. But, I'd vote re-cast due to the casting quality and the semi-gloss gray paint applied to it. Also, the wings look to be made with a stamped sheet metal louver material as a stand-in for Koolshade.

Looks like the Icons version to me. Cockpit detail is all wrong. Color is not even close. Wing Spar cover is the same one used on Icons TIE (which is wrong). Wing material is not Kool shade. But I do love the chicken-wire in the cockpit look. Might put that in mine.

Nope, defo Icon and as others have said, probably re-casted...oh boy, I hope nobody buys it:angry

I'd say a recast, i don't think a company like Icon would let something out of the factory with bubbles like that would they? Look at all the detail that's gone missing thanks to the heavy paint job too.

So if an original sold for over $400k, I think I'd take a little more time to have this one checked out if it really was original.

The lack of koolshade and also the chicken wire in the cockpit are the first things I saw. No way to mount it through the front window. Or any other place as far as I can see. I wonder if some one should tell him!:unsure

Considering that the tiefighter don't have so much as a little weathering on it, makes me think its fake.
