Cinemaquette Darth Vader

Re: Cinemamaquette Darth Vader

Looks more like the ROTS version to me (i.e. a shrunk down Rubies). I'll bet they used the Classic Action helmet for reference. He's "tipping his hat" again!

Re: Cinemamaquette Darth Vader

2k? You could build a full size Vader for that!

Rich

really? :confused

Anyways, I think that a statue like this could be worth 2 grand. But it just looks strange to me. The body for one, looks too long and skinny. It's kind of not proportional. This may be through the fault of the photographer. I would like to see more detailed pics of this before I pass judgment.

I thought the same thing. Before I saw that it was an ESB Vader I thought it was a ROTS.

Re: Cinemamaquette Darth Vader

I'd like to see a GOOD life sized Vader built for 2k. Awesome little piece, Clutch.

Re: Cinemamaquette Darth Vader

Guys, it is really bad form to come into a thread and complain about a price. If you don't like the price, don't comment on it.

Re: Cinemamaquette Darth Vader

Qui, I agree it's certainly bad form to come into a sales thread by a fellow member to complain about a price, but for a commercial piece I personally think it's fair game. $2k is too much for this.

With a bit of creativity, elbow grease, spit, polish and luck, you can indeed create a huge lifesize Vader for this ballpark price. You'll upgrade most of his parts later, naturally, but it can be done.

Odd pose. For some reason, statue makers struggle with Vader's legs. I like the Bespin concept and I'm sure it's a lovely big piece in person.

Re: Cinemamaquette Darth Vader

If I was selling it, it for sure wouldn't be $2,000. They dropped the ball on their Alien statue as well. It amazes me that a company like this can stay afloat.
