Since we got a bit over a week to go we could post our favorite music videos and songs about christmas.

Royal Guardsmen-Snoopy's Christmas - YouTube
Annie Lennox & Al Green - Put A Little Love In Your Heart [HQ] - YouTube

the following are shorts about 8 minutes each: Warning they're a bit dark but have a good xmas story to them. TNT used to show them in the early 90s this time of year and they stuck with me until i found them on here.

the original 1939
Peace On Earth. Classic Christmas cartoon. MGM 1939. - YouTube

the remake 1955 (we need another new version)
Good Will to Men - 1955 - YouTube

They sell out every time they come this way. Last year they sold out 3 nights in a row. Even their non-xmas stuff is amazing.

Got to see these guys live last year and it was great:

Christmas Eve/ Sarajevo [Timeless Version] - YouTube

But for me even though I'm an atheist it's all about the religious Xmas music. It's just SO much better and meaningful. Really gets me in the mood.

"O Holy Night" is a personal favourite.

O.B. - uh, Mike: that sounds more like an agnostic talking :lol (no disrespect meant - the fact that you enjoy the season is what matters!)

Christmas songs. I probably have enough Christmas music to qualify being called Christmas Piglet (which, BTW, *is* a Christmas song!). I decided this year to make a Christmas mixtape of just our favorites. I'm at 276 tunes and counting.

Some are entire albums, like the Roches' "We Three Kings", some are single goofy tunes like "Santa's Coming and he's Gonna Kick Your A**!" by the Arrogant Worms. There are old standards from Bing, Dino, Perry Como.

No Christmas would be complete with The Chipmunks, or any number of Christmas Special songs - "Linus & Lucy", "Christmas Time is Here", "Rudolph", "Silver and Gold", "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch!", "Hurry Christmas", and on and on...

Lol! Trust me, there's no doubt in my mind personally so I'm definitely an atheist. I certainly appreciate that our entire culture is founded on it though and that's all I'll say about religion. I'm not what you'd call a militant atheist. ;)

For a very long time (15 years or so) I was the biggest Grinch you could meet. I hated Christmas because of a lot of childhood crap. Then I had kids and decided I'd make it good for them and it seems to have rubbed off.

Afterall, I'm Santa now! :cool

Some of my fondest Christmas memories revolves around an obscure little album that we had on cassette tape back in the day.

I see Amazon still offers the CD......Sample listening available: ))

We use to listen to it in the car as we drove around and looked at Christmas light displays. It's a good little mix of the religious and the secular, with a bit of Sesame Street-esque entertainment.

What sticks with me the most, maybe because of it's "unusualness" is the track, "The Three Wise Mountain Men"--a really different kind of telling of the story and "Mountain Man" has other parts on the album as well.

Don't know what ever happened to the cassette, but I got a copy of it on CD a few years ago off eBay just to have for some Christmases past reminiscing.
