Hello everyone! I thought it'd be a good idea to make a single thread dedicated to all of my prop building and collecting for any who are interested to see what I'm working on!

Since I received my first finished replica yesterday, I thought there was no better time to start showcasing my collection!

OBI WAN KENOBI - "A NEW HOPE" LIGHTSABER HILT FROM ROMANSPROPS.COM

My first completed Star Wars replica - and it's a beauty. It looks and feels the part. I can't recommend Roman enough if you're after a replica of this saber. He also offers kit parts to suit an FX conversion. Thanks Roman!

ORIGINAL VINTAGE 3-CELL GRAFLEX - FOLMER CORP (NO PATENT NO.)

I acquired this from the evil bay a few weeks ago now. I also bought an accurate ESB conversion kit from Roy over at WANNAWANGA.COM. I couldn't be happier with the included parts, although I will be swapping out the edge connector for the real deal. I'll likely use the one from Roy's kit on a future Graflex. I'm waiting for the release of The Force Awakens before I touch this Graflex, as I am a fan of the apparent hybrid they've gone for.

LUKE V.2 LIMITED EDITION - MASTER REPLICAS

A really nice piece I purchased from a fellow RPF member. I'm really happy with this one.

Indeed great choice of sabers to start with ... that's good ... you have taken your first step into a larger world ;)

Just a quick update on my Graflex!

I machined my grips today! (With a little help).

I was a bit concerned that I had ruined one or two, you can see the one closest to the camera required a tiny bit of shaving to fix up a some small chips I made in the plastic. I don't mind the other small scrapes and lines though, I like the weathered look. What do you guys think? Usable? I still need to clean them up a bit and find a way to darken the filed plastic.

A piece of soft cloth or paper tissue perhaps . . . I recall if you order a brand new set of Novus 1, 2, 3 online . . . there's a piece of soft tissue in the bag ... a cotton bud might be okay as long as you don't let the wood inside get to touch the surface :wacko

As a side note, is it a bad idea to display a LE Master Replicas saber outside of a case? Mine didn't come with one, but I don't want to keep it hidden away either... I'm currently using an acrylic display stand on a dresser.

I've ordered one of Slothfurnace's boards, if I get a clamp piece from roy, will it be easy to install for someone new to this sort of thing? I assume the old one could be replaced if need be...

Can you post a picture with the lever on yours? ... I'm not certain what MR has used. I suppose Roy's lever would screw into that MR sidebar, unless you truly want to go all the way and use the extra screw piece that comes with Roy's lever . . . . and remove the MR sidebar on the left side altogether as per screen accurate. But that's all about your personal taste ... I for one like the clamp complete with both sidebars attached.

That's not to bad ... I just wonder how easy it is to be swapped with one of Roy's ... perhaps best to leave it alone if you're happy with it . . . for now :)

You should see my sabers scattered all over the place covered with dust or under some papers . . . the only ones out of sight are Dooku's and eFX Luke ROTJ Reveal ... those are still in their original boxes ... just be mindful if you have relatives coming over ... these props have a tendency to attract curious hands ... willing to be touched :wacko

Not quite as exciting as a Graflex, but my Black Series Vader Force FX arrived today. I plan to collect the set and keep them nice and clean :) It's got really nice sounds and the sensitivity is great, it even has sounds for light contact.

I actually just told someone else on here - You have a beautiful collection and if you start collecting vintage parts (obi wan sabers with grenades and stuff), those are the only things I'd be worried about displaying. Rust and tarnish are what I'm thinking. Some people keep them oiled or waxed....I spray mine with Krylon flat clear coat. They keep their luster and are only a little dull....but it seals them from air and you can handle them all you want! Just reapply maybe once every few years, if you really feel like it.

I just picked up a booster for my Obi Wan saber and actually hit that with krylon last night. it was a bit tacky right away but overnight...I was just playing with it today and it felt and looked like it did before!

graflexes usually tend to stay shiny on their own when free of moisture like damp basements!
