Childhood pictures with your toys.

You’ll shoot your eye out kid.

By any chance, does the scarf in that picture have anything to do with your moniker? Like how my brother in law got "Fred" from his always wearing the Fred costume from his favorite western? His name was really James. You wouldn't happen to be the mild mannered alter ego to SUPER scarfman from the picture above?

The scarf man nickname was bestowed on me by my drinking buddies/ workmates from my early twenties.
It was due to my fondness for wearing bandanas, wool scarfs, and generally having something around my neck.
Ma says it’s because I was born with the umbilical cord around my neck, so it feels natural. Lol

My Mom gave me this book...which I vaguely remember.

Opening it up, I see it was from my cousins, here in 1987. (And probably really from my Aunt, and just put their names on it)

My Mom says she has more stuff in the attic, one of these days I need to go up there digging.

This must be Christmas 76 as that's my sister in the photo. The woodpanel behind me has now been styled in another 70s classic "anaglypta wallpaper!"
This is me wearing a Classic Wolfman mask I'm ot sure who made these but it was an Adult mask so had to use a tshirt to pad it out lol.
I used to go into Walls Carnival store every weekend to look at the Universal horror masks back then.

I'm wearing my nans black full length Fur coat, god knows what animal it came from..
I think the mask is still in her house somewhere.

That is AMAZING! Your sister is either quite used to your antics at that point or was just about to have a Nightmare Before Christmas.

Ha your right on it!
Even better was turning it inside out the latex was pink making me look like the bald SS soldier from An American Werewolf in London!

Back on post #39, I added a bunch of old photos between my brother and I....well, I've been replaying all the old Metal Gear Solid games, and decided I might as well dig up the toys and see if I can put them on display somewhere.
I knew my brother has all these boxes in the garage of his stuff, and for 6 years have meant to go through it all....so I finally did.
While I ended up with some of hia stuff, I found that he had a few things that I had thought was long gone....and here it's been in the garage this whole time.
Heres one Pic of the big mess I've now made in the living room.
I didn't know.he had kept the boxes of the Jurassic Park stuff....although, not in great condition.

Found most of the Metal Gear Solid Figures. I found one (Revolver Ocelot) in a box after taking this, but I believe there should be one more (Liquid Snake) he had, just didn't find it. Maybe another box....or at the parents house. We never ended up getting the one boss, Sniper Wolf. I'd image it would cost a ton to find now a days.

Also had totslly forgotten about these Final Fantasy 7 figures my brother bought in 1997, when the game had just came out. There was this Asian store in downtown Orlando that sold all kinds of cool stuff like this.
$19 to $20 was a lot for figues back then....especially for a 12 year old.
They are open, but have been carefully put back into their boxes.

Found a few more pics.
Me getting a steel tec set, as I liked to build stuff. My brother getting the Sega Game Genie, which I ended up with all these years later...

Christmas 1999. Nothing better than getting getting a CD player for the car, since the 89 Toyota Corolla only came with a radio orginally. My Dad had bought it brand new, so 10 years later, it was then mine. Good little first car.

Ok, so not a toy, but, in 2008, was helping the youth at church with a bunch of stuff, and building sets for some plays they did, so when my birthday came around, the youth group and leader surprised me with this. Finding this picture is just cool....and me having used the JediMichael name for so long, and also being death star fan...

I remember Stretch! Had so much fun with that toy.
Mine got punctured some how and hard clear sticky stuff oozed out in the summer heat.
Funny thing was it smelt sticky sweet and yeah being young I picked it..

Tasted like a very thick syrup!
He's still under my parents floorboards as he was leaking so much and didn't know what to do with him so hid him in my what I thought was a secret hidy hole..

That sounds like a new addition to Toy Story.

This has been nagging at me all morning. I absolutely have a smell memory associated with Stretch and it was KARO SYRUP!!!!

I don't remember him breaking and I don't remember tasting the goo but there is a very very strong corn syrup memory attached to that image. I wonder if he smelled like that even without breaking?

In 1967 I was given this fire truck pedal car. Gonna be honest, I don’t remember it but I bet it would be worth a fortune.
Edit: I do remember something about it, the ladders came off and I’d climb myself into danger with them.

Somewhere around 1970 I got this awesome rocket, a three story ship with an awful lot of astronauts, some sitting, some standing. I have looked for one for a few years but have never found one. Several of the sitting astronauts ended up in the Star Trek Bridge model I built a few years later, they were about the right size.

Edit: I can see on my arm is my red banded Mickey Mouse watch I must have just received.

And lastly (My mom didn’t take a lot of Christmas pictures) is me checking out the FJ Star Trek blueprints. 1975. I still have those.

Edit: I just saw that by my right knee is a Star Trek model kit. Not sure which one, I already had the Enterprise by this time.

Notice the tv on a tv, the usual 70’s setup when your console tv died and you just used it as a stand for the replacement.

I was just about to ask about the very recognizable tv stacking when I saw the last bit of text at the bottom. Did you ever do the long stick remote? We had one with a slot in the end for turning the knob.

I think we over stretched him or it might have dropped on something sharp, I don't think we have Karo Syrup this side of the pond but yeah there was a sweat smell about him..
