Child size 501st Special Ops Clone

After seeing the thread about the child size jedi robe, I thought I'd bring some balance to the force by posting up the clone armour I put together for my 6 year old.

I troop as a TK and my lad had been on at me for ages for some armour (he didn't like his dressing up outfit as all the armour is 'too soft' he told me).

Ok, so I didn't make the moulds but below are my pics of construction and painting.

The kit:

I test painted one of the shoulder bells to see if i could weather it before I set to work on the rest of the kit (I ecided if i couldn't weather well enough then I'd keep it all new and shiney)

It looked ok to me so i pressed ahead with the rest:

After lots of trimming to fit my son I sprayed the chest a gloss white over a coat of black, once dry I started on the blue:

Then I weathered it (I went over the top but I still think its ok)

Trying it on for size so i could get the arms and crotch measured up:

The legs were a nightmare, I had to take about 4 inches off both the thighs and the calves to get them to fit before i painted them up:

I also made the boots from an old pair of plimsoles:

I still need to complete the belt but he loves it anyway

Now THAT is awesome...
only one complaint...
Isnt he a little short for a Storm (erm... clone) Trooper? :lol

Awesome work I'll bet he LOVES it. beats the pants off of my robe :D :thumbsup

LOL :lol

But at least you made the cloak, I can't take credit for making the kit, I only trimmed, painted and put it together. I wish i had the ability and skill to create moulds and cast things.

Thanks Chris, I take that as a huge compliment coming from you. When I first decided to make him a set I looked at the foam kids TK on your site - but knew my lad would just complain that it wasn't hard like daddy's!

I thought he looked just like the bobble head too :D

Here he is next to me:

Please share where you got the armor. Please pm me with details!!!
Love to know more.... I am looking for a child boba fett / jango fett armor. Anyone out there who can help.

That is sooo cool.

I recently adapted a child's astronaut costume, from NASA, into a 'perfect' "Escape from the Planet of the Apes" outfit for my son. He'd just love something like that.

Gotta know more! Could I PM you for details?

Thanks for the info.

The outfit looks excellent. In fact there is something about the proportions that actually looks better than the full sized versions.

Hey, PM me your source if you don't mind. I have a 6 year-old who would literally LIVE in this armor if he had a set! :lol

Me too - my 6 year old would totally flip for that! Can you pm me the approximate cost of the kit as well?

Thanks!!!

So awesome!
I would love to know where you got it from also if you don't mind. (Although i need 2 to prevent a real star wars in my house.)

Thanks and looks great!!

Aloha

:thumbsup

Awesome set of armor! He must have gone crazy over it.

Have you actually gotten him in the 501st? He could be the youngest member ever.
