Check Out My Illusive Concepts Chewbacca

I REALLY need a Han Solo blaster to display with this!!!!!

I got it last night, and today I painted the base black. It was a lighter shade of black, and has speckles of green on it.

It is made by Illusive Concepts, and is limited of 7,500. I must say, I really like it. It looks MUCH better in person, and is full size to Chewbacca. I put my face right up to his, and look into his eyes.... IT'S FREAKY!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am going to Home Depot today, and pick up some brackets to mount it on the wall (right next to a future Han blaster!).

I saw one of these in a FAO Schwarz back in the late 90s.

Talked with my friends a bit and decided to mess with the people in there, then broke down into (fake) tears at how they'd killed chewbacca and mounted his head. Friends dragging me from the store.
Good times. God I used to love messing with people like that :D
Edit:
Whoops forgot to say that it's a great bust.. Wish I had one :D

i got one off ebay for a steal several years ago..it freaks out my wife and kids...

there are 2 eye colors..green and blue..one is more rare..not sure which one..

I have a medal of yavin next to mine...

One of my first licensed buys, from FAO.

Yours is very nice - one of the better ones. The appearance and quality varied WILDLY. LMK if your'd like to see pics of mine.

I love the idea of the Medal of Yavin. I am trying what to put with him, other than a Han blaster. This guy needs some guns!!!!

Sure man! Throw up some photo of yours!

I just put it up on the wall. I need to add some props with it. It's a bad photo, but you get the idea.

Uhhh.. Wasn't aware that Chewie wore lipstick. Puts his relation to Han in a quite disturbing light... :confused

Possibly hanging a bandolier with his would look good. Or some type of oxygen mask like the one he wore for the mynocks, or Hans blaster.

You guys have any other display ideas for me?

If you're looking for ways to improve how this piece displays (and aren't too concerned with modifying it slightly), there are a few things you can do.

The obvious one is the eyes... you can replace them with better quality acrylic or glass eyes by trimming out the existing latex eyes with a cuticle scissor and then digging away enough of the under-foam to make a spot for the new eye to wedge in place. IIRC, a 26mm or 28mm eye with 12mm or 13mm iris would work.

Another thing that is a really simple trick that GREATLY improves the look of these is to raise the piece up off the base a bit. I had one years ago and what I did was carefully remove the head from the base (it's held on by several tacks as I recall). The head is on a wood dowel that extends off the base. I made a black foam "donut" about 3-4" tall around the dowel and then put the head back on.

Suddenly, he looked a LOT more like Chewie!

The point where they cut him off is so close to his chin that it looks quite awkward.

Another idea there would be to take it off the base and replace the dowel with a taller one and use that as a means of raising him up. IMO, you could probably go as high as 6" or 8" and just let the hair hang and you'll have a much better look.

Just a few ideas...

Wow! All great advice.

I think the easiest, and less expensive way to go it the donught idea. I will give it a shot ASAP.
