cheap plasma caster

I decided to give this thing a try and see what I could come up with. This was all done with a scrap piece of PVC pipe and some scrap pieces of foamies that I happened to have lying around.

First thing I did was cut off the entire front piece and replace it with a length of PVC pipe that I glued in place:

Next I added a barrel shroud made from a foamie, and added the plasma chamber at the back, made from a tube of foamie and two peanut butter jar lids:

Now some foamie greeblies:

And then coated with Elmer's to seal the foamies, and primer-coated:

I think it turned out pretty good, and the total cost for everything was less than twenty bucks. :)

A few more pics--the underlayer of silver makes it nice and shiny and new looking:

All that remains is to weather it a bit.

If I were to make another one, I might try cutting it off in front of the two rings around the barrel instead of cutting it off all the way back at the base, and building up the barrel from there. Might look pretty cool.

nice build l flank

personaly i would have kept it how it looked but then added the rear plasmacaster bit on made it into a kind of mr black style rotating cannon

That'd work too.

I didn't like the way the original front end looked, so I cut it off. Matter of personal taste, I guess.
