Should be interesting to see what the final production piece looks like.

    Re: Cheap PKD

The mock up looks sharp, but if it is misshapen and sunken in spots from molding in a softer plastic it may be too much hassle to make look good, but for 12 bucks it may be worth the risk of purchase.

Yeah, for the price it would be more than worth the effort to mod and repaint. I'll give it a go when I can get my hands on one!

Hmm, was going to use a 3d printed kit to convert an airsoft reveolver into an M2019, but think i'll wait for this to be released and kitbash it for parts instead.

I'm pretty doubtful, none of the pics showed anything that remotely resembles a water gun firing mechanism or trigger, but looked more like a resin prop casting. I wont complain if its a cheap fixer upper for making PKD variants, but I have my doubts about it being genuine and not internet conjecture.

Yeah, very interesting. They're gonna sell millions of 'em if they go into production. I will certainly pick up a few as well.

That is pretty interesting how they worked up the mechanism. Either way, the casting looks good I'll probably grab a few when they go on sale

Will the HLJ one have clear amber grips? The amazon.jp description seemed to confirm this but no description on HLJ and the picture shows all solid grey.

There are "clear black" and "clear silver" versions. Not really sure what it means but I ordered the clear black version from HLJ.

Shouldn't be too bad, I'm thinking under $15 for regular shipping. That's around what a model kit from Bandai would cost.

Ordered one black and one silver. Slightly worried about how filmsy the casing is going to be - but at least the internals are easy to remove and there's a good amount of space for electronics. Saw a few photos of the 'deluxe' version by the same company, assuming the 'amber grips' are the same ultra bright orange they might need a dye job with some iPoly.

I'm eagerly looking forward to some reviews once other rpf members get this in hand. I want one and in the photos it looks great, but I'm still skeptical of the quality

Pre-order on both sites, isn't out till June.

It's under 30cm, and should probably be pretty light - I've ordered Gundam kits from HLJ before, postage will probably similar to the following (an MG gundam kit, boxed)

Think that's a variant colourscheme to the standard one? There's a version with blue grips as well.
Either way, the actual 'core blaster' itself looks like a great (cost effective) base for customization.
'Amber' grips on the standard version might need dyeing or recasting as well http://argo-sha.com/fullcock/009_takagi_pb.html

Apologies for the double post, but has anyone got any experience with LED/Switch kits for the PKD?
Obviously hard to say without actually having it in hand - but it'd be good to know how well existing kits will fit this (and if they don't, if anyone will be offering them specifically for this model).

Another post with some production updates and details here:

Looks fantastic. It might be hard to add lights to this as it is likely glued together to make it water tight. I'm not sure if I would try my hand at popping it apart. Being clear plastic it has less rubber content so the plastic is more brittle than solid colored plastic.

We will see hopefully in a few weeks though.

Followed the link to the Japan Amazon site. Listed for 11,500 yen or $113 USD. Little steep for a water gun

Since this is based on the Elfin Knights Blaster, which was really warped, I hope they fixed that flaw in this new one.
