ChaosPrince's Ultimate Spider-Man Suit (Miles Morales) WIP

Is the Dragon skin applied directly to the suit...? Or was it something that was ordered to match the suit?

DragonSkin Silicone comes in two parts that you mix together and color to match whatever you'd like it to, it's a bit of a transparent viscous gel without any dye.
So the color is matched after you mix the silicone together

Ah... so it was mixed, dried, and then cut out and applied?
No, mixed, dyed, and then poured into the suit.
If you look closely there is an outline of tulip puff paint around the spiders which acts as a boundary, this keeps the silicone at a good surface depth and in shape while it dries. No cutting really needed.

@elfett knows better and could explain it better than I could.
I have two trial mixes of DragonSkin I've played with, but that's the brunt of my silicone experience.

...and I see you're sewing in the shoes. What's the method there? Put the shoe in, sew it, cut the feet bottoms off the suit?

Almost. Different order. You cut the suit and then sew the shoes in along the seam line where sole ends and top shoe begins

Sounds both brilliant and terrifying. Do you layer any kind of glue along the edge after?
I do not really know, the silicone spiders were done by El Fett here on the forum. He had more experience in the medium than I do, but I'm planning on doing silicone for my next suit. I don't believe I'll need to reinforce the outline though, one everything is poured carefully in, the line rounds out really well on my test Lycra i have in my room right now. Barely noticeable that there was an outline at all

Sorry to confuse, I meant along the seam where the suit feet will meet the sole of the shoe, lol. Like, are you sewing then sealing along the edge?

Hey how in the world did you get it so smooth? Did you just pour it in and it did that? I might want to try it in my suit

As he's stated several times, he didn't personally do the puff paint or silicone. The board user ElFett did.

But yes, that's presumably the theory.

Hey guys, someone let me know that SpideyFox , who commented on many of my threads and posts, has passed away.
I just confirmed it.
It's never a good day when a dedicated member of the forum and Spidey community leaves us, especially one so young. He did great work and was always willing to learn and correct his process.
I wish more people could live by his optimistic example.
