Here's a link to the review that Jez @ starwarshelmets.com wrote up about a weathered ROTJ Endor armour and helmet I made:

“Created by fans for fans”
In 2010 after a combined twelve years in the hobby, two Star Wars collectors joined forces to offer something special. Driven by the desire to exceed fans expectations whilst providing a superior product with direct movie lineage, Mark founded Cast from Original – CfO. My kit has direct lineage to a screen used ROTJ Stormtrooper armour. The original actors were about 5'10" and 160-180lbs. The armour is adaptable to larger troopers and smaller troopers and has been worn by people ranging from 5'4" 140lbs to 6'4" 220lbs. Yes, my armour is 501st passable and passes the highest standard with the correct accessories.

History:
In the late 1980’s an Australian Star Wars fan was lucky enough to acquire a set of Stormtrooper Armour which was rescued from a skip at Elstree Studios. The suit was most likely created during the making of Empire Strikes Back and is what we refer to as an ESB Type 2 or ROTJ Background version. He had the presence of mind to create a set of molds from the armour.
Fast forward to 2010 and the founders of CfO were lucky enough to acquire the original set of molds taken from this suit. These molds pre-date all the other replica suits that have been offered to fans over the years.
CfO were also lucky enough to acquire an original Return of the Jedi Stormtrooper helmet in 2009, this helmet was taken apart and molds were taken four plastic pieces along with casts of the original green bubble lenses.
The helmet and suit molds have been vacuum formed on a professional 8ft x 4ft machine to offer you the fans, one of the most accurate replicas ever made available!

Thanks for reading.

Mark.

Thanks chaps!

I really enjoy making this stuff. I cannot believe that I am the only person that bothered to produce ROTJ armour from ROTJ moulds! Everyone else re- engineered them to be ANH. I just thought I'd stay true to its origin.

wish I had room for a ROTJ TK display... Still love my CFO helmet - one of the very first pulls made. I know that for a fact, as I was there when it happened :D

Watering the plants, of course. BTW, that split above the right ear is always a problem area.

Wow, it looks great! If only I had the discipline and patience to make one for myself :p

Is that mine??:cool

Couldn't wai to see it LIVE!! :D

The armour absolute beautiness!!! :rolleyes

Should be, and no, in that order. The Rogue One armor is best described as "heavily inspired by" the original Stormtrooper armor. The new stuff in Rogue One as actually tweaked here and there to make it more comfortable and able to be moved around in than the originals, plus other things like the shoulder straps now being attached to the backplate rather than floating free.

On top of that, the OT suit lineage is worth studying. By ROTJ they needed more suits than they had left, so they cast a bunch of new ones from one of the leftover suits from Star Wars and Empire. But, for some reason, the shoulder bells and helmets ended up a little "squished" and the raised detailing on the abdominal armor was upside down, compared to the originals. Most people don't know the difference, but to connoisseurs they're as different as night and day. The Rogue One suits have taken their proportions from the earlier iteration, rather than the ROTJ.

That said, I still have one of Mark's helmets on my wish list, because I view it either as a minor design evolution over the Empire's lifespan, or else a slight upgrade to a more "standard-issue" model, as these were worn by "an entire legion of [the Emperor's] best troops". Either way, I want it included in my lineup from Phase I clone trooper to First Order.

Interesting thanks for the information.
